Re: Bristol Rovers away!
How many footballers don't want to play at Wembley? I expect EVERY Rovers player will want to play and expect a full strength team.
If we get through against Gloucester then Bristol news media should give us some coverage.
Sunday would be a good day to play.

Re: Bristol Rovers away!
If it's the Sunday I hope we a. don't request a replay the Tuesday after if we draw, have another day's rest (for me editing programme and the players) and b. it's not played at some stupid time like 1pm.
I'm thinking too much into this. It's the FA Trophy, we'll find ourselves 4-0 down at half-time tonight and have the rest of the season looking forward to trips to Basingstoke etc.

His comment is "we will be fielding a strong side for the match" which I think is subtly different to saying a 'full-strength' team. I imagine he believes (probably correctly) that any side he fields should beat us or Gloucester.

If we're drawn at home in that again I'll have to go some to beat my record of compiling a programme. Think I did the last one in 45 minutes, and that was 45 minutes of my life I'll never get back.

All praise to you for getting a programme out in such a short time for the replay. Even managed a photo on the front cover from Sunday's match. Top man.

Re: Bristol Rovers away!
Rovers' goalkeeper injured last night, will be out for 3-4 weeks. The reserve goalkeeper cracked a bone in his arm a few weeks ago, so Darrell Clarke is hoping to arrange an emergency loan signing.
The promising youngster on loan from Fulham also got injured last night, and it looks as though he may be out of the reckoning.
With regard to playing a weakened team - Clarke has brought in a few new faces in the last couple of weeks, so there are players not even making the bench who were squad regulars last month. So he has quite a few options available to make a few changes, but still have plenty of experience in the side.
I hope that admission prices are sensible, it would be great to have a good sized crowd for this one. Are gate receipts shared equally between the clubs for Trophy games?

Damn, annoying Puddy is going to be injured, we would have stood half a chance.

Thanks. Yuffie does the cover designs/headers/gallery pages so a big thanks to him as well. Otherwise I think I would have completed it not long before kick-off last night.
Think there were a few errors inside but nothing major.

Re: Bristol Rovers away!
I see Mourant's run is over! When will we see a league table for the prog compo?
I think there's more chance of Rovers being off key if they play their strongest team - fresh faces more likely to want to impress. Keep it tight for 70 minutes and catch them on the break - we did it at Grimsby and Barnet.

When are we likely to know the details of the fixture? It isn't that long away

'it will appear on the website and social media after it has been announced!'
I suppose the police have to give the go ahead for any date (especially with our fans' reputation!), but I do wonder why it should take more than 48 hours.

Re: Bristol Rovers away!
Following discussions between the clubs, City and Bristol Rovers have agreed that their FA Trophy 1st Round tie at the Memorial Stadium will take place on Saturday 13 December (ko 3pm). Bristol Rovers have worked hard to put the necessary arrangements in place to play at the same time as Bristol City which suits both us and Rovers the best and are grateful for the relevant agencies assistance with this.

Surprised, but very pleased at this decision. It should be a great day for us!

Brilliant news, never expected it to be the Saturday, but so much better.
The website mentions prices, I've never been to the Mem, are we going to be in a terraced stand? Or is it going to be unsegregated?

Re: Bristol Rovers away!
Excellent news, cannot wait. reasonable ticket prices as well from the rovers website:
Ticket Prices:
Main Stands
Adults - £14
Concessions - £7
Under 16’s - £7
South Stand & Terraces
Adults - £10
Concessions - £5
Under 16’s - £1
Away end is in the South stand isn't it? so assuming its segregated, only £10 for city fans.

I can't find any info about where we are allowed to go in the ground? Are we allowed in the cheapest area?

Be very surprised if it's unsegregated. Away terrace is uncovered and in corner of the ground. There's also away seating in the tent like structure behind that goal.

I just remembered that site - http://www.footballgroundguide.com/bristol_rovers/index.htm#Memorial-Stadium-Bristol-South-Stand - a lot cheaper than usual costs.

Two pubs nearby:
The Wellington, no website?
The Royal Oak - http://www.theroyaloakbristol.co.uk/the-royal-oak-about.html - looks better, about 200 yards from Memorial Ground.

Re: Bristol Rovers away!
I'd imagine segregation will be in place although it really isn't required - no-one will want to take responsibility for the risk involved in not doing so, however slight.
I stood on the away terrace once - view from there is not the best as it's kind of in the bottom corner rather like the part of our Bath end nearest the turnstiles. The prefabricated "stand" section allocated to away fans will keep you dry if weather is wet but its got low elevation. But as against that, the atmosphere in the ground is usually good, they do decent food and the locals are friendly - Rovers fans appreciate our part in their survival and there is still a lot of goodwill towards us. With the departure of Bristol RFC the pitch is also much better than in previous seasons.
I've noticed that the attitude on their forums regarding the FA Trophy has changed from dismissive to taking it seriously - someone has calculated the financial benefits round by round up to a Wembley appearance and this has got their attention, helped by the additional interest generated by a rare local derby.
