The Family Stand + Bristol Rovers
I have just read elsewhere that when Bristol Rovers left Twerton Park, they wanted to demolish the Family Stand and take it to Bristol with them. I have no recollection of this at the time, and wondered if anybody on here could verify if this was the case?
Having attended Twerton Park as a youngster, I thought that Bath City would have been left with the benefits of a ground which had been improved during Rovers' tenancy, but maybe this was not the case.

Re: The Family Stand + Bristol Rovers
As far as I remember the family stand was constructed and paid for by Rovers, and therefore owned by them. When they moved to the Memorial Ground there was some talk about them dismantling it and re-assembling it at the far end where there were no structures whatever. I think in the end it was cheaper to put up from scratch the fairly basic stand which now exists, and to leave the family stand where it was as a goodwill gesture to Bath City. I believe they also paid for the terracing and fence at the Bath end which certainly didn't exist before their arrival in 1986.

Thank you for the info, Corstonian.
Both teams could be playing in the same League by 2015/16 season!

I think you will find that we will pass them on the way up as they come down. So no :-)

I almost included a similar remark in my response - it may well happen. One team in free fall and the other on the way back up!
