Re: Ex Romans' Thread
That's a hell of a drop. Hopefully he has an excellent season and regains his confidence and form, enabling him to play at his true level.

Re: Ex Romans' Thread
A drop indeed, but N&T appear to be quite an ambitious club. It'll be their first season after a merger between Nailsea Town and Tickenham United - the latter of who appear to have been charging up the minor leagues since their recent formation.
I also believe Jason's from that neck of the woods, so one might surmise that he's either concentrating on his out-of-football life and keeping his eye in with some local boys, helping out some old pals, or is biding his time until a slightly bigger club come along.
Damn shame though, as I reckon all he needed was a bit of coaching and some confidence instilling in him.

That's basically it in a nutshell, the club is on his doorstep so just to keep himself fit for now. I can't imagine he'll be there for long.

Speaking of keepers, Pauls Bastock now keeping for Dunstable Town, but couldnt keep out Andy Sandell's late winner for a Chippenham team including Preece and Lee Phillips yesterday.

Bastock played just one game for us 27 years ago! Ever since then, he has been very popular (as a 'City reject') with City fans. How many games has he played against us over 27 years? My favourite was when we beat some Lincolnshire side (managed by a 'Steve' even more obnoxious than Steve King of Whitehawk) 8-0. After the 5th or 6th goal, he just fell over backwards in the goalmouth.

And after the 8th he said to those of us behind the goal 'how much longer of this torture is left on the clock?' He was wasted on that horrible club! Oh, and good to see Steve Evans' latest club got off to a good start yesterday.

Listened to Steve King on the radio going back yesterday as he was picked as Robbie Savage's non league team of the day for their Hayes comeback. He was a bit motormouth (King not Savage) until he (Savage not King) shut him up by asking what their average gate was. 250, despite that new stadium plans cracking on. Pop.

I have to switch off the second I hear Savage on the radio, let alone King. The two together would be a car crash (and cause me to crash my car).

That's nothing, Walsh scored on Saturday against Canvey Island in a 4-4 draw. Presumably Leatherhead's first since they played us.

Just watching the Conference highlights show, 'more misery for Gary Owers' mentioned in Gateshead's defeat at Bromley, is he managing them?!

Good to see Sido in a regular starting spot for Wycombe, not sure what's going on with the hair, though! Wycombe flying high in League 2, but came unstuck at the Mem in the JPT last night.
