Re: East Thurrock
Well, obviously, but had they got a really good draw it would have just added insult to injury.

Re: East Thurrock
What do you mean "phew"? how often do we get the chance to play an established football league side who play in front of crowds 8 times bigger than ours? I Would have loved to gone Hartlepool on an away day as i am sure would many others
I thought 7-1 was slightly flattering to them, but make no qualms about it we were completely and utterly pathetic in that second half. First time I have left before FT. I'll await for the 'managers?' (Britton, Howells, Rollo?) verdict before passing further comment.

I'm sure if we had got through we'd all be thinking up reasons why Hartlepool away wasn't a bad draw. But equally, if we had, I doubt when they were drawn out any City fan would have been praying ball 63 would come out next.

Re: East Thurrock
Well I can only speak for myself, but I would have been thinking 'this could be a repeat of that great day at Grimsby.' A team at the bottom of the league, playing in front of their disgruntled fans against non leaguers backed by fans enjoying a big day out. In fact, a bit like that pub team who came to TP 2 rounds back and Shortwood. I agree with Peteboa, we were pathetic on Saturday and I hope the players were watching that draw tonight - probably better than any dressing down from the management. The only consolation for me is that I assume they will be really up for it when the Trophy comes around - they owe the fans a decent run...

I think Jason Mellor was watching based on his tweet at 20 past 7
I tried to copy it but it didn't work!

It doesn't work like that. The numbers are allocated alphabetically so we would have had a different number than East Thurrock. We would have been number 4 which was Bradford City's which is away to Chorley or FC Halifax. Still would have got prize money though.

Re: East Thurrock
We wouldn't. The tie is given a number so we'd have been 63 too.
And we definitely wouldn't have been 4 even if it was alphabetic- the Football League teams were first so if it was alphabetical we'd have been about 50.
