To be fair I dont think and wouldnt expect that the club will give us player by player progress on signing contracts. Perhaps a collective view when all has been sorted.

yes, but for such a popular player i would have thought it would be sensible to have made an announcement. if for no other reason than to continue the feel good air amongst supporters at present (we haven't lost for weeks!).

Hmm it's now Saturday and there is still no official mention. I really hope he is staying so for the sake of putting us out of our misery please can the club confirm. Having said that Simmo's signing wasn't hailed on the official site either, was it?

To hopefully stop all further speculation. The club only announces signings once all the appropriate paperwork is completed.

So couldn't players who are going to continue with us be asked to refrain from telling the world the latest updates on their lives until an official announcement is made?

Anyway - isn't this a common problem nowadays; you can't control information easily. Even news of deaths in the family spread around the world via f/b etc and get to close relatives before you have a chance to tell them. Of course you could make it part of the contract, not to tweet key news etc, but I think that us just an alien concept to those under, say, 25!
