Will be playing Europa League (I presume, unless he can't be registered or something?) against Cliftonville

The Chippenham fans didn't exactly seem too sad that he had left.

I am surprised they noticed he was there.

Re: Ex Romans' Thread
Morton was integral to the style of play Jerry has brought in. I don't know if Jordan Simpson is a similar player. Otherwise, I'm sure Jerry will be looking for another good passer in the middle.

He will thrive even more at that level. More time on the ball, better pitches, dare I say it better players around him too. Excellent move for him.

Wow.....that is some fall for a young chap who a year ago probably thought he was on the verge of a long full time career.sned wrote:Sol Pryce signed for Highworth Town of Southern League Division 1 South
I was, however, surprised to see him at TP for the pre season, and not surprised he wasn't kept on.
All the best to him. Hope he turns it around.

Re: Ex Romans' Thread
There’s an interesting article here about Steve Stacey, who I remember playing for us in the early seventies. The article doesn’t mention his time at City but is worth reading nonetheless: https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/bristol-city-stacey-liverpool-ipswich-3287474

That does surprise me. I appreciate Bromley are currently top of the National League but IMO he's far too good a player for non-league and has already paid his dues at that level anyway. I would have thought one or two League 2 clubs would have been straight in for him.

And scored the winner 12 mins after coming on today v. Notts County. Tricky one, obvs Newport won't loan to a competitor which limits options to lower League 2 or top end National.

Re: Ex Romans' Thread
Strangely it seems FGR left it until the window had closed before loaning him out which meant he couldn't be loaned to another league club and could only go on 1 month loans to non-league. When we played them at the top of the hill recently he wasn't even in the squad which I thought was odd given their lightweight attack at the moment (marginally worse than ours - despite our respective lofty league positions only 2 sides have scored less than FGR and only 3 have scored less than Newport).
When with us he was devastating coming off the bench for the last 15 minutes or so but seemed to struggle whenever he started matches. Would love to have him back as an impact sub but there's no way FGR would loan him to us.
