Looks like he's filled out a bit since he left us. Must be all those Barnsley Pies.

Re: Ex Romans' Thread
With the lack of radio commentary today, we went out in the damp to watch Cadbury Heath's 4-1 trouncing of the students of Team Solent in the FA Cup. They had a lad called Jamie Horgan playing at number seven.
The name rang a massive bell. Did we have him at any point? Did he play in the Somerset Cup at least? I knew I knew him but couldn't place him.
They also has a 16-year-old lad called Saikou Janneh who looked one heck of a prospect. He's still a bit rough and ready, but he's definitely worth keeping an eye on!

Adie has been doing some scouting for Kev Nicholson at Torquay. We saw him at the services on the way to Margate - he was heading to Bromley.

Re: Ex Romans' Thread
I guess Chippenham enjoyed their win at Kettering yesterday, because their new star striker was looking nice and relaxed out and about in Bristol last night...

Was watching Eastleigh v Swindon on tv yesterday evening. Scott Wilson came on as a late sub for Eastleigh and almost set up a goal with his first touch.

Arron Hopkinson (blink and you'd have missed him) was on our books about four years ago. He's on the bench for Merstham today against Oxford United.

Arron Hopkinson
Arron Hopkinson is also Eden Hazard's body double, apparently.

Sideways move in footballing terms. I hope you fill your pockets though Ross, good luck.

I got the impression from the Sutton United site that he wanted the chance to go full-time. Seems an odd time to move in a way, as Sutton must have a reasonable chance of making the F A Cup 3rd Round and he won't be able to play for Eastleigh in the competition. Presumably what he has been offered by Eastleigh makes it worthwhile though. With Scott Wilson, there are now two players at Eastleigh who weren't good enough for us...

Re: Ex Romans' Thread
Easier to travel for him. Eastleigh more likely to get to the Football League I reckon. Had he held on until the transfer window he probably could have had a FL move but we don't know about the circumstances.
Yes, clear error in not playing him enough, although Sutton left him on the bench a few times, too. A mistake. Fortunately not a very common one, can't think of many players off the top of my head who we've let go and have gone on to impress hugely elsewhere at a good level. Sometimes they do ok at the same level but not higher. Other one would be Scott Wilson, also at Eastleigh, but he didn't impress me during his spell with us. Some clubs it works, some it doesn't.
