GO seems to admit as much in the Chronicle http://www.bathchronicle.co.uk/bath-city-gary-owers-prepared-to-get-creative-building-romans-new-squad/story-29458572-detail/story.html but seems quite relaxed about it!

Re: Player News
A very open and honest assessment...thank you GO
I hope Dan Bowman stays, he has shown improvement through last season and hopefully there is more to come.
The friendlies are not going to have much relevance on the league season but it will give the lads a chance to meet each other and build up some understanding.

Re: Player News
Correction - the friendlies won't have any relevance on the league season!
Yes, it's good to get this update on the current state of the squad. I agree that it's important that Dan Bowman stays, but I believe he has now finished at Bath Uni and so may have openings elsewhere. Hopefully any job he finds is in this area.
I had assumed that Matt Taylor's role at the club was on the coaching side anyway - at best he could only be seen as playing a similar role as Jim over the past 2 seasons.
Knowing what a stickler for standards Owers is, I'm surprised he is even mentioning Richards after what happened!

Encouraging that they're able to use the Uni, if only for a few weeks. GO was looking around the gym when I was in there the other week. Problem is it's being refurbished for most of August.

Both Monthe and Hutchinson have signed for next season.

From what I have seen both are good signings. I wouldn't mind seeing a back three with Hemmings. We seem light in midfield and that would release Ball and Rigg to get forward more.
I would like Bowman to sign up as I think he could benefit and improve under Owers.

Has he played in any of the friendlies? He hasn't made many appearances in the past 3 seasons and has scored a grand total of 3 goals....

What stats, where?
I see these - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marvin_Morgan - which does answer my question.

Re: Player News
Marvin Morgan was not exactly the most popular player at Havent last season. I would guess that they have him on a 2 year contract and are very keen to unload, so keen that they are prepared to pay part of his wages to allow him to move to us. It is likely that we would not be able to match the terms of his contract at Havent for him to agree to cancel it. Hence it has to be a season long loan.

Re: Player News
Interesting signing - obviously a player with some ability and a reasonable scoring record when playing regularly. At 33 he probably has a season or 2 left in him and looking at his former clubs seems like GO has had contact with him previously.
Looks like he needs a run of games to get some form - a bit like Fleetwood - so we now have 2 former league strikers who both have something to prove and I suppose if anyone is going to get the best out of them it is Gary Owers.
Lets hope so anyway....!

From Marvin's Wikipedia entry:
"After the 2–1 defeat to Hereford United on 3 January 2011, Morgan posted the following message on Twitter: 'Like to thank the fans who booed me off the pitch. Where’s that going to get you! I hope you all die.' "

Re: Player News
Strange that he was signed without being seen in any friendlies. Maybe Havant insisted the deal was done immediately.
GO obviously feels there needs to be some competition for striker places.

According to the Chronicle today the deal has been on the cards for a while.
I think we have to trust Gary with his signings based on previous experience.
