The "best" player I have ever seen!!!
I have a (signed) picture of Charlie and myself taken on the pitch after the famous Swindon replay. I would put it on to the Forum if I could find out how to do it.......

Re: Je suis Charlie
My boyhood hero...........the best ever player I have seen in a Bath City shirt bar none..
He was a bit lazy at times but some of the goals he scored were outrageous and so powerful and to score 221 in 311 appearances says it all.
Him joining us today - he was a very recent Scottish International and a leading 1st Division goal scorer when he joined us - would be like.......well actually their isn't really a comparison having thought about it because everything is so different now.
Charlie & Ian MacFarlane ran a little window cleaning business whilst in Bath called Acme Window cleaners....but I don't think they really did that much work because they were getting a good wage at Bath City and had a club house each.
The club were bankrolled at the time by Arthur Mortimer who owned Mortimers a large Building Contracting company in Bath and for a few seasons - due to the minimum wage restrictions in the full time game - the club signed many ex-League players and had much success and Fleming's partnership with Stan Mortenson up front in 1958-59 was a goal fest almost every game.....in front of big crowds as well......oh how times have changed!
