2-0 Benny again, City playing really well in 2nd half by all accounts.

Great Win. Boreham Wood were very disappointing. Big Physical team that go down under the slightest challenge. I hate that sort of side. I'm surprised they didn't come out second half with Christmas trees sticking out of their backsides.
But City were no pushovers and coped very well. Gallinagh had a great game and Adelsbury had one of his blinders.

Awful first half, we and they never got going, but great second half! Agree that Gallinagh had a great match this afternoon....probably the best I've seen him play. Boreham Wood played a bit like Whitehawk did at TP earlier in the season, but without the result.... the ultimate insult to any footballing team. Does anyone know what was wrong with Hemmings and Watkins, more flu?

Hemmings has injured his hand, apparently. Watkins was unwell.
Excellent 2nd half performance - a really good team effort with 2 cracking goals.
Although it was really annoying to have Boxing Day's game postponed, I think we benefited today with B/W looking jaded.

Thought for the first 20 minutes they bullied us (and the officials) out of the game. Once we got on top of this the rest of the half as more even.
Second half - as Martin says - it was soon clear who hadn't played 48 hours earlier but that shouldnt detract from two great goals from Adelsbury and a thoroughly deserved win.

Re: City v Boreham Wood
I saw one of the Boreham Wood players having a fitness test before the game. Guessing it was Whichelow, who has scored a few goals recently, so helped that he was out. The guy that presumably replaced him, Jeffrey, was lively in the first half but couldn't tackle, coupled with Gallinagh producing his best performance of the season it worked out brilliantly for us.
Aside from that I saw glimpses of why BW are where they are. Thought our defence dealt with the lively Angol brilliantly. First half we didn't really test their keeper but second was much better. And well done to Adelsbury for notching five goals from a defensive midfield position in the first half of the season. Hopefully others can chip in and we'll be at the right end of the table again.

Great second half with Addelsbury doing the Chas job and getting forward! Gally was like his old self. Boreham Wood were well organised but we outplayed them in the second 45.
Great afternoon.

(Continued) a second home game running so sadly had to go the Royal Oak to celebrate the win- a few Happy City fans in there. Hope Andy gets some more beer in for the NYD game!

Re: City v Boreham Wood
Looks like Kington played a part in both goals from a sort of Watkins position. Was this coincidental for the two goals or was he taking up this position a lot? Of course, Hemmings looked indispensable but, fair play, Adelsbury appears to have taken his chance. Hope this carries on and leads to lots of genuinely hard decisions having to be made.

Yes agreed. It appears to be the way to do it.
