Can’t believe you’ve forgotten our last home match against them - the 3-2 win with Brunty’s winner!

Don't forget the heroic 2-1 victory over them on 27 December 1926!

Re: Torquay Match
Torquay in 1926 was in the Western Counties Candlelight League. Unfortunately was abandoned in the 70th minute when 2 went out and nobody had any matches!
Still awaiting the league ruling as we were winning at the time!

A lot of Torquay fans are predicting they'll take around 400-600 from what I've seen on their Facebook page. Bristol End won't be anywhere near as packed as that 2018-19 game (think they brought 1.5k) but should still the second biggest overall crowd of the season.

1) Dribbled around half of Newport's team from the half way line to ensure the result. I was there with my rattle and invaded the pitch to celebrate.
Replace number two with City 2 WSM 1 - Tyler Harvey's stoppage-time double, the latter effort unlikely to be bettered ever, shot from the half way line to give City a three-point cushion over the bottom three and escape relegation.
3) City were battered for most of the game, Torquay should have scored 5 or 6. Brunt glancing header from a wicked cross clinched a 3-2 win. I was sat in the stand and the place erupted; testament to how well it was built as it didn't collapse.

Surprised that no mention of Paul Bodin's last minute equaliser at Ashton Gate. - Well until now!

Torquay deducted a further 1 point for rule breaches. Now 19th below Truro.
Weymouth awarded victory over Yeovil after abandoned match.

At least the League is being consistent now with these rather strange decisions (small mercy).

Should have read the rules more carefully!
How about the goal against Bolton - think it might have been Kenny Owens.
Then the goal against Hereford -was it Paul Batty?

All but in the play offs and hitting form at right time. And in front of a big crowd.

Re: Torquay Match
Another win where the score line didn't reflect our superiority. It wasn't particularly pretty but there was admirable determination throughout the team to get the job done.
We couldn't have asked for meeker opponents in our final home match and Torquay's fans could be forgiven for the abuse they hurled at their team at the end - hopefully amongst their number were those members of their forum who have continually referred to this as a pub league. Hopefully they will be more respectful of the Southern League if that's where they play next season.

The ref. failed to see that a number of their defenders wanted a to cuddle our players, and not wait till the final whistle!!!

And they go to Taunton on Tuesday, that could be interesting!
A great day all round today, dominant performance in front of a bumper crowd. Playoffs secured, happy days

Re: Torquay Match
team well up for it from the 1st minute. proud of the club. that team spirit is worth 10 points a season. love it. yeboah should have had a penalty but got booked. crazy. superb atmosphere and we follow the bleak times for days like today. football goes in cycles so lets enjoy this. well done too whole club. we've lost jordan thomas to cheltenham and lost our supporters player of the year luke russe too injury but we still dig in. you can't buy team spirit for any amount of money and our club is so united at the moment. vital we keep this band of brothers together. UTC boys.

Re: Torquay Match
The Yeboah 'penalty' was a bit of a shove and his comical collapse to the floor was rightly rewarded with a booking.
A bit concerned that their keeper never had to make a save after we scored. We're looking a bit toothless up front.
Torquay's sole tactic was to pump high balls at our defence which was meat and drink for our back four.
