For me there is too much randomness in the dishing out of cards to be able to read much into it.
Morever the bald statistic of a yellow or red doesn't tell you what it is for. It could be spitting at a player or waving an imaginary card or falling over too easily in the box.
Sometimes a tackle that puts a player out of action isn't even punished.
