Somerset Cup
We start our defence of the trophy at home to Frome Town in the 2nd Round. We are also hosting the final on 1st May.
Ties are due to be played in week commencing 6th November when we are away to Weymouth. I saw earlier that Weston are playing their game on the 7th and their league game that night has been postponed so presumably out trip to Weymouth will go the same way.

Re: Somerset Cup
I hope that doesn’t happen. I thought that we had seen an end several years ago to the nonsense of these games taking priority.
I’ve just looked up the dates for the Dorset equivalent and their dates are set for the following week with Weymouth involved. Nothing on their website as yet but they won’t be chuffed to have our visit called off plus theirs to Torquay the following week!
Logic says that county FAs should synchronise the dates of their competitions (or better still get them out of the way pre-season). Especially when their senior clubs have so many midweek league fixtures. And I suppose the NL might check round dates before creating unnecessary problems for clubs but when did football administrators think logically?

Re: Somerset Cup
for gods sake. move this tournament to the summer freindlies. knocked out teams play other knocked out teams. would give freindlies more of a meaning and not interupt important league fixtures in the real seson.

Re: Somerset Cup
That means we have 8 games in November going Saturday/Tuesday/Saturday for the whole month including a midweek trip to Hemel.

Re: Somerset Cup
I can't stand Somerset Cup. An 18 man squad with 46 league games and FA Cup and FA Trophy games as well. So about 53 games a season depending on cup results and replays. SCRAP THE SOMERSET CUP.
