Cody failed with a penalty late in the second half but City finished strong...a "win ugly".
Great attendance of 1121 on a wet evening, is that a Tuesday record?
Lots of comment Rob - did you go to the match after all your huffing and puffing, or did you just listen to radio commentary?

I was there. Very entertaining and worrying that Weymouth pushed City so close.
I shouldn't have changed my original attendance prediction of 1098.
Was it the Weymouth manager who swore VERY loudly?

Yes, Wealdstone seemingly managed to stabilise and grow during the pandemic seasons. Largely depends on finances of course.

Played them just in time imo with Bobby Wlkinson now installed as new manager.

Re: Weymouth thread
Well if he’s still in charge by the time we play them away I’ll have no issue in seeing the ball most of the time - it’ll largely be level with my eyeline while I’m up in the gods in the main stand.
That’s a total transformation in style but credit where it’s due, he seems to do well. He didn’t seem to be particularly popular at Wealdstone despite reaching the play-offs.

Wealdstone’s fans are probably amongst the hardest to please. I remember the evening when we played at Hemel and some of us were talking about the flak Wilkinson was getting on their forum. A voice near us piped up “Don’t I know it!” - it was him!

Weymouth were due to play at Dulwich last Saturday. Since the postponement both clubs have said goodbye to their managers.

Re: Weymouth thread
Bit of a strange one. It was difficult to fathom how they have only got 2 points this season on Tuesday. I thought they looked a very good side and appeared to be committed so it seemed more bad luck than anything else. The board must have decided that on the back of last season's relegation they needed to act.
I thought it was only a matter of time before they started hammering teams and maybe they will with a new guy in charge.

Thought it was very respectful of the Weymouth fans to keep up the minute silence for the whole game!

Yep think I said something like 'Wealdstime fans don't like Wilkinson' and he popped his head round and said 'Don't I know it, I'm Wilkinson' for it was he.
