Love that the other player had axe in his name!

Nick “Pops” McCootie got a brace for Chippenham today, whilst other his former teammate Tyler Harvey also got two for Truro.

I am not sure if he counts as an ex-player yet, but I see that John Mills played for Banbury (and was substituted) in their F A Trophy tie against Swindon Supermarine - presumably we are expecting to be out by the time he comes back! Stuart Fleetwood was in the Supermarine side.
I also see that one of the Torquay scorers at Weston on Tuesday was Saikou Janneh, who as a 16 year old youth team player scored in a 7-1 SPC win against Wellington in his only first team appearance a couple of seasons ago.
Oh, and Nat Jarvis scored again for Chippenham...

Matt Coupe also came on for Supermarine.
Mills has not scored for Banbury yet.
Janneh was impressive in that game and I was hoping we would keep close ties with him but it looks like he may have slipped from our grasp.

I see Janneh scored both of Torquay’s goals against Billericay on Saturday. I seem to recall that at the time Gary Owers said something like he didn’t know what to do with him - I don’t think I was the only person who thought it might be worth putting him on the bench and giving him 10 minutes as an ’impact sub’.

Re: Ex Romans' Thread
I saw Janneh play for Cadbury Heath as a 16-year-old and thought he was one of the best non-league prospects I'd ever seen. The management there seemed to be of a similar mind to Owers though, but were keen not to over use him. He was later training with the Bristol City Academy, but I'd been wondering what had happened to him since.

I guess if Bristol City come calling, you’re going to listen.
He only scored one on Saturday, the other has been credited to Niate.
PS Happy Birthday Roy

Mills only on the bench for Banbury tonight - it really isn’t working out for him this season.

Interesting to see Manny Monthe playing for Tranmere against Oxford City this evening.
The BT Sport commentator mentioned that Oxford's last home defeat in the FA Cup was against City back in 2016 but clearly didn't do Stillman level research to point out that Manny played for us in that game.

At least he pronounced his name correctly, at least I assume so. I just assumed it was how it was spelt and he didn’t correct us.
Was pretty much a non-event. Didn’t look like a packed house either.

Isn't it more likely you are right on the pronunciation?

Re: Ex Romans' Thread
I've heard a few say it as Month-ay, definitely did in the play-off final.
Sounds like he's going well, probably earning enough now to fix the tyres on his car. Terrifying enough driving someone else's motor, let alone being an automatic and lights flashing up constantly.

Watched the highlights on the National League website. As well as having to sit through an advert before the video starts, there are two 29 second ones during it as well so there were 58 seconds of adverts in less than 3 minutes of film!
As for the game, don't remember Jarvis ever being that near the goal when he played for us, and they showed Naby's goal but not his sending off.

Could we amend this title to: 'Ex Romans who had disappeared off the radar Thread? As a habit I check new posts and here it's often just another reminder that Chippenham or Weston have scored. And I admit I've occasionally chipped in with needless updates.
FYI Tony Ricketts, Adie Mings, Nick Brooks and Dave Mogg have expressed interest in featuring in a documentary we're going to try and produce about the Stoke cup run. As has Jerry but he's a current Roman. At least he was the last time I heard.

Hopefully it is okay to say that Scott Wilson scored for Macclesfield as they drew 1-1 at Newcastle this evening (albeit only against their under 21s) - they went on to lose in the penalty shoot out in Sol Campbell’s first game.
