Eastbourne v City
Same team as last week. So is this lift off or were E. Thurrock there for the taking and it won't be plastic fantastic.

Eastbourne pulled it back to 3-2 but City held on for the three points.

Great win today at Eastbourne, but spare a thought for our old friends at Pennydarren Park. Seems they have another financial crisis and 80% of the players have left - see article, link below. Forced to field mostly development players at Chesham today and went down 13-1.

The only downside is we don't have a game for two weeks now, just as momentum is kicking in. 14 days off before a tricky match against Hemel Hempstead isn't ideal, but a break might be just what the players need.

According to the Southern League website Chesham scored their 13th goal in the 67th minute, so they must have taken pity on them for the rest of the game!

Depending on the outcome of the Margate/Bowers/Egham saga, I suppose we could have a game on the 28th if there is a positive result when the tie is played next Saturday (assuming it is of course).

Re: Eastbourne v City
I can’t see it being scheduled for then, simply because the other tie could be drawn. Too much faffing about. It’s an absolute fiasco.

Sorry, Junior, I'd be amazed if the FA don't ask us to schedule the match for next Tuesday and then call it off if Saturday's match is drawn. Unless Bowers lose their appeal and then take it to the Supreme Court or Brussells.

Feel for the Margate programme editor. If their deadline is the same as ours, they're likely to produce an edition highlighting two opponents.
The sensible idea would be to say that the tie between Margate and Bowers & Pitsea/Egham has to be finished on the day. Which will never happen.

Re: Eastbourne v City
The Vase allows The option of finishing on the day. I guess to avoid midweek travel and more difficulty of getting time off. Woner what the Trophy rules say?

Re: Eastbourne v City
Had a look at the Trophy rules - what else is there to do on a Sunday afternoon!
Rule 11 deals with replays etc, and Rule 11(a) allows for there to be extra time in the first game, but this has to be agreed between the clubs within 7 days of the draw.
There doesn't appear to be a rule which says that no replay can take place and a tie can be decided on the day, but Rule 11(e) allows the 'National Game Board' to vary the arrangements in Rule 11 "if it is deemed necessary" so presumably they could decide that the tie be decided on the day, but I don't think that is very likely somehow.

Re: Eastbourne v City
I think there is - Rule 11a seems to suggest that teams can arrange to have penalties after extra time of the first game as long as they let the referee know!
I think Paulton came to that arrangement when they drew Leiston a few ears ago

You could be right, but I only read Rule 11(a) as allowing them to agree to extra-time and not to penalties - perhaps Paulton and Leiston persuaded the F A to invoke Rule 11(e) which seems to suggest that 11(a) to (d) can be ignored if it suits!
