Re: How much more can the supporters take?
You should have seen what Diogenes had put in before the moderators changed it to "strewth"

Strewth!
As far as my previous posting is concerned it is as I wrote and submitted to this thread.
If the moderators felt their was a need to amend my posting then surely there would have been a annotation to confirm the action that had been taken.

To confirm, Diogenes, no such amendment was required to your post.
Peteboa, it's not a censored word but the moderators felt that some would find it objectionable in the way it was used. For the same reason, Marc's response to Diogenes a few days ago was similarly edited.
2. Posting Content.
Content that is unlawful, obscene, mischievous, vulgar, profane, sexually oriented, racially or religiously discriminating, or otherwise objectionable is not permitted, even if masked.
Everyone is entitled to state their opinion on this forum and provided that it is not embellished with language which the moderators feel goes against the friendly nature mentioned by davebart in his response to Marc, then everyone should be happy.
If any forum member is unhappy with this, then please send a private message to the moderators.
Thanks

I'm guessing Marc's last comment was meant as a joke - where's an emoji when you need one :-)

Re: How much more can the supporters take?
In hindsight it may have been better change Peteboas word to 'individual' as this would have retained the flavour of his sentiments, ie - he's a miserable individual
As we have said before we encourage strong views but hope that posters can express them without resorting to personal offence.
Strewth is a great word.

This Titanic quote of Captain Howells does it mean he's staying until the ship (club) goes down?

Yes, my comment was a joke <sigh>
Can I also endorse the use of "strewth" as a word and am now going to use it instead of any cussing and swearing. So watch out, you bunch of strewthing motherstrewthers.

Hold on,
I can sort of see a need for everything else, I suppose, but 'mischief'? Surely, football forums are all about mischief? What next is going to be banned - tomfoolery, jiggery-pokery, pranks and zany japes?

I don't recall anyone trying to repair the Titanic - I think it went down pretty quickly. On second thoughts, perhaps that is a good analogy! .

Genuinely thought you'd made that up until seeing it for myself. I'm almost wavering towards the Howells IN camp if he's going to continue feeding us with such stunning material - a spoof writers dream.

I didn't want to be the first one to say it but I kind of feel the same way! It's verging on Holloway territory

No doubt if Holloway had said it it would have been treated as a work of genius.

Yes it would - because Ollie is a genius.
