Agree that it is shaping up.
For me its the battling midfielder that's a must.
New keeper.
I have given up on the centre back - Walshy to stay and rediscover his form.
I did think the Cheltenham chappy might be actually coming........

Russel Milton will be assistant to Gary Johnson at Cheltenham with the rest of the back room staff to be confirmed, so Elliott may or may not be staying.

His Chronicle interview was good, it's rare we get those sort of new signing interviews. Interested to see how we'll play if we have signed two wingers, given how we normally struggle to pick one!

Probably because they borrowed it from their 'sister paper' Somerset Guardian who cover Paulton Rovers with much more interest than the Chronicle do usJon_BOA wrote:His Chronicle interview was good, it's rare we get those sort of new signing interviews.

There is a link to the Somerset Guardian article which is about Paulton. Think Chronicle do ok given Bath Rugby's prominence. More interesting is Watkins staying and possibly Walsh, surprising given the travel.

Re: Bowman signs and Davies from Paulton
There are two new young writers that have appeared in the last 12 months. One has (I'm guessing) a permanent job at the Chron whilst the other guy does free lance in the area. Seems to have drifted more towards the Somerset Guardian now though.
Both are a breath of fresh air in this area, let's hope there will continue to be more coverage this summer!

Don't agree on that. Given that the vast majority of people watching the egg-chasers come from outside Bath, and would therefore never buy a Chronicle, the proportion of space given to them is way over the top. Of course, it does also depend on how good is the communication from the club. The Chronicle has admitted that it wants to publicise 'big' events and ignore little ones. A couple of years ago, this included omitting reports of local concerts, plays etc, and just concentrating on professional events at the Theatre Royal. A local paper should report just on local stuff, not try to copy a national paper, particularly when it only prints once a week!Luton Roman wrote:There is a link to the Somerset Guardian article which is about Paulton. Don't want to get drawn into a debate on the Chronicle. However I was concerned to discover recently that Neil Beck is no longer there. As sports editor, he was always very happy to provide space for SC activities, however late he received our messages! Hopefully his replacement will carry on the good work.
Thanks Neil and all the best in your new job!
