Play it pre season, Somerset FA, and you might have a compo which clubs treat seriously.

Positives of night:
No injuries
No extra time
I didn't get wet
Press box was toasting with my heater working wonders
We don't have another Somerset Premier Cup game for at least seven months
Managed to get a loaf of bread in Morrison's after game

Negatives:
Possible league game rescheduled before possible Trophy final
Lost out on prize money probably similar to what I paid for the loaf of bread

You shouldn't waste club money on electricity for a heater. Get some winter clothing.

That's a very good point Kermit. Two hours of an electric heater, doubt it's a modern one, is costing the club money it can ill afford. For shame!

Paulton appear to be a decent side, probably better than Farnborough. They caused us real problems first half and we couldn't get out of our half. Adelsbury went off at half time and we brought on Ryan Bole who is only about 16 and we lost the only bit of physicality in midfield. Perry looked much better in central mid and he and Evans look very good players, as does Gibbons.

We were completely toothless up front only having three shots on goal in entire game, only one of which caused the goalie to make a save. Having said that Barrington didn't make a save either. He could do little about either goal.

Jimmer was beaten for pace for the first and gave away a free kick for the second getting a booking for his trouble in the process. The free kick was a routine which completely took us out.

Well done to Adelsbury for turning up as I believe he lives in Cornwall.

Oh and it might have been a different story if Dan Bowman had any end product. He is fantastic on the ball and no one from PR could get near him but I wish someone would work with him on his delivery to the strikers.

It's not complicated.

I agree. Fortunately I’d saved the club money by:
a. Producing a programme, free of charge*, printed free of charge too
b. Not charging for my services on the tannoy

I think it’s only the second time I’ve used the thing. I can survive standing cold at a league game, but SPC I thought I’d earned a bit of warmth. Fortunately we’re entering March so it won’t be needed for a long time again.

I also worked out during the game that I haven’t missed a SPC game since the Brislington one in February 1999. I’m expecting the Somerset FA to drop a medal around soon. Memories galore.

* although seeing as we gave them out for nothing, as what I produced was total dross, we made zero profit. Made a bit of money across the rest of the season, though.

Could you operate the tannoy from sat in front of one of the floodlight lamps during evening games?
It'll be a bit of climb to get there, but you'll get free heat (maybe a tan) and a great view of the game.

1.They weren't free they were part of the admission price.
2. They are no more and no less than what is required.
