England C call up for Stearn
Called into back up squad. Everyone wants a piece of us now. Have we ever had anyone capped by England at non league level?

Wasn't Coupe in the Wales squad? Perhaps a couple of others.

Marley Watkins maybe?
I think Rob Cousins and Dave Mogg were back in the day.

Marley has been on standby for Chris Coleman's full international squad a few times in the last year or so

I know but I thought that was a bit Anglo-centric

Re: England C call up for Stearn
Never expected to have the club v country debate on here but....
... it had better not be to our detriment. I don't know when the England C fixtures are or even if they make allowance for ours - though I doubt it because this would require the FA to be joined up.
For Ross, I hope he gets the rewards his ability deserves.
What does it say that he can't get a start but gets selected for England?
(Sorry to turn this into a Ross Stearn debate but somebody had to)

Re: England C call up for Stearn
I don't think we've ever had anyone actually play for the England C (or non-league, as it used to be called) team. A few players have made the initial or standby squad but no further.
To me the whole idea of an England C team is faintly ridiculous. I'm sure C teams at school used to be for the fat and unsporty/uncoordinated kids (like me, the latter mainly). I am sure it's an honour for the players selected but would anyone really miss it if it wasn't around.

While they may not have forced their way into the final 16 cut that included Bristol Rovers pair Tom Parkes and Lee Brown, boss Fairclough nevertheless called Weston-super-Mare keeper Luke Purnell, and Bath City winger Ross Stearn, both aged 24, into his 14-man back-up ranks for this Tuesday’s fixture with Cyprus Under-21s in Larnaca
Considering the amount of long away games Ross has attended... this really is a long trip!

Spot on as always, Yuffie! A total waste of time and only results in players being unavailable for their clubs.
Always remember the day Phil, Junior and I went down to Sussex to see 2 games in a day - Wales managed by Rello and featuring Gethin, Coupey and Adie Harris beat Ireland at Worthing - quite decent game, with both sets of players looking proud to represent their country. Then on to Eastbourne to see the Scots play England. What a contrast the latter were - jumped up conference players who seemed to think they had 'arrived', posing on the ball but getting nowhere with it.

Doubt Ross is actually going to Cyprus, he is in the 14 man back up squad to the squad, still its a start...or not in Ross's case !

I would have thought they'd want to move around a lot more considering it felt about -1 degrees despite the fact that it was late-May...
Does Paul Fairclough dash around the grounds scouting these players? I remember when we drew Barnet in the cup, he didn't even know which league we were in.

Re: England C call up for Stearn
I would have thought he wants someone with plenty of experience of sitting on the bench so he may get taken. Be a shame for ross as he is likely to get a game for us on tuesday
