Which badge should we have next year.
Re: Next season's badge.
I said an eagle as these are famously associated with roman legions.

Oh, I see, that sort of eagle. Excellent idea. The only problem is that someone else thought so as well.
Mussolini
Nazio.
There is no denying it does look cool though.

It's a lion, of which I'm sure Martin approves.
I think we should have something that includes the coat of arms, every other sports te representing Bath does (cricket, the Uni, that lot down the Rec) and so should we.

Here's a badge that incorporates part of the City coat of arms.
Personally I prefer simpler, less fussy badges. In out league I much prefer Eastbourne, Ebbsfleet and Havant to St Albans, Staines and Weston.

This should be the one. Features the City arms and the black and white differentiates it. I also like the mystique of the old Roman sillhouette, even though it is slightly obscure.... >>>

Not a fan of the stripes on that particular one but really like the crest. Would prefer a Roman centurion or helmet but this would be a very good second.

Well yes that's pretty much what I meant. Eastbourne's is simple but still has links to the town (beach). I can't remember Ebbsfleet's and I guess Havant were a bit tied trying to combine two teams.
I fear this thread is fairly pointless as we'll be going back to the old one next season.

What if we had the coat of arms, but the wavy blue and white stripes which represent the waters were replaced by B&W stripes

I am never quite sure why we need the stripes. The stripes are on the kit. It's stripes to represent stripes that are already there. Stripes on stripes. If we are to have anything on the badge, it should represent the club, the nickname or the city, it doesn't have represent the shirt it's already on.

Re: Next season's badge.
I hate the 'modern' crest. It's utterly bland, and says nothing about the club and where it's based.
I like the original 60s/coat of arms one. However - in order to enable the club to retain copyright over its own crest, it would need to have an embellished version of the city crest. How about replacing the sword on the city crest with a roman helmet ?
I think the club missed an opportunity to use the 125th anniversary year to launch a new crest.
