Which badge should we have next year.
Next season's badge.
Personally, I hate both badges so would like to see a new one showing a better designed, more stylised Roman Centurion or a Centurion's helmet. Something that is a bit more dynamic.

Like with the shirt designs, I hate change. Everyone calls us the Romans - we had a perfectly good badge that was representative of that and then changed it for that ugly, simplistic thing.

Well, yes, but that could be much better designed. For a start, it looks like he is sitting down in the chair.

And that's before you even see the higher res version where the roman has an afro.
Whilst I can see nothing wrong with the normal badge I would quite like it if the club went back to
I like that they incorporated into this seasons badge (although not what they've done with it).

I quite like that apart from the diagonal stripes which make it look busy (which looks even busier on this season's badge). When is that from? I could add that as an option.

It was the 1960s badge. When I did the retro shirt a few years ago I (or, more accurately, my wife) recreated the badge.

Ah, bugger. Sorry, mate, I can't edit the poll. I was going to put in a category for "The 1960s badge that Mrs Yuffie designed". It can probably sort of count in the "new badge" section.

I tell you what, if I go through another birthday and Christmas without receiving one of those shirts, I am going to be well narked off.

You'll be suggesting that we change the kit colour next...

Re: Next season's badge.
Our normal badge (i.e. last season's) doesn't really do it for me, too bland. Badges should have weapons, animals, stars and/or crowns on them.
A new badge would be great, especially if used as a rallying point in the push for community ownership. But let's not repeat the mistake of trying to develop something "modern and up-to-date", because these usually end up looking the most outdated - better to slightly tweak an old design like the Roman or the 1960s badge.

I like the modern badge. If you were going to add an animal what about an eagle?

Yes, a Roman Centurion brandishing a sword riding on a pig, walking along the red ramparts of Aquae Sulis flag. With Jane Austen in the background holding a "Terraces not Armchairs" banner.

Check out the coat of arms of the City of Bath, plenty of stuff we could nick from this. Is that a bear or a dog on the right?

Re: Next season's badge.
Why an eagle? When was the last time you saw an eagle in Bath? (Unless that was your point and you are highly intelligently using sarcasm). Mind you, when was the last time you saw either of those animals on crest - a griffin and a bear? - in Bath? Ok, we haven't seen Romans either but we know they were here and it's our nickname and no-one else's
When people talk about modern, I think it means simpler and better designed unlike the dog's breakfast of this season's badge. You can go too far the other way and end up with the previous badge which is as bland as the Stripes nickname. Also, as has been pointed out to me by someone who knows, the crenellations have no relevance being neither Roman nor Georgian.
Let's not have any pig. I'm sorry but I hate that bloody pig.

would both be ideal for commemorating one of our finest strikers and a former prominent forum member!
