Crowd 3505 with 404 from City. That is a good turn out and crowd. City should get a decent 5 figure return from that.

I heard that Archie and Adie went straight down the tunnel at the end as everyone else celebrated. Says a lot!

Plus the money - 18/20k? Should mean no budget cuts in January and a push for the playoffs (and Wembley)

Re: Rovers v City
Great battling performance by the team, who undoubtedly wanted it more than Rovers and matched them everywhere on the pitch. Team spirit very much in evidence from start to finish. Difficult to single out any particular player for praise as everyone played well, but I'd have to say that Simpson had a fantastic game, even by his high standards.
Also great support from the travelling faithful throughout the game - by contrast Rovers' fans were pretty much inaudible (apart from a quick chorus of "What a load of rubbish" near the end). Most importantly of all, given our perilous financial position, prize money and a share of the gate receipts is coming our way. Positive press coverage and good publicity for the club is an added bonus.
Just a response as regards Howells and Britten - they were definitely on the field with the players at the end. They may have then slipped away but I see that as allowing the players to take the applause, and not hogging the limelight themselves - which is reasonable enough in my opinion. Please let's not have another round of conspiracy theories - just enjoy a rare moment of outstanding success.

Fair point Corstonian. I think there needs to be a bond between fans players and management for success. Friggy and jimmer were there........
Great day and I don't want to take anything away from that

Great result today but in my opinion we still need a new manager not convinced the puppet and his master are turning it round I wont be at Twerton until we have a new manager .

Today was brilliant. If people can't enjoy it or only want to add negatives they'll never be pleased. We won't get afternoons like that in a while - enjoy the day. Who cares if Arch/Adie weren't given the bumps after or whatever, we played damn well and deserved it.

No they didn't. And fair play today, the tactics, lineup and substitutions were spot on.
What a day.

Great win City. Right up there with past Hall of Fame results. All the Pirates fans seem to think we deserved to win on Twentyman afterwards. Kudos to the Black & White singers-came through loud and clear on my speakers!
