Tonbridge game
24 hours on the point seems a decent return after a long trip with all the injuries we have. Entertainment was in short supply yesterday though and I was surprised at Tonbridge's lack of endeavour. Their good start to the season and our threadbare squad should have seen them at us from the get go but they barely laid a glove with our defence in control. Davies should have done better with both chances, we had most of the game but lacked creativity to carve out anything else.
No subs made yesterday so hopefully the same 11 will be recovered enough to go again after a short turnaround.

Re: Tonbridge game
Never mind in short supply, the entertainment was non existent! A game as bad as our last two at Dover - must be something about Kent.
Hard to remember either keeper being stretched. Tonbridge may have had a decent start to the season but their three opponents have zero wins between them and are in the bottom four. On yesterday’s showing it’s the bottom rather than the top half of the table they’ll finish in.
Our goals record speaks volumes - two for, three against.
Fingers crossed for a game tomorrow to make up for it!

Re: Tonbridge game
4 games in, 13 fit players. get the 7 injured back and will judge then. well happy with a point at angels with 7 big hitters out. zac smith gets injured on 1st game of the season and is out for the season. feel bad for zac. how unlucky being ruled out for the season with an acl. anyone with half a brain would have took a point before the game. Clark can't strut his stuff when is a wing back. too much defensive work to do too take too many risks. get raynes back our attackers can attack more knowing they've got decent players behind them. will be tough tomorrow with no rest but same for hampton. back the city and enjoy the game.

Not sure if that's a response to my post, Paul, but if it is please reread - I was being critical of the entertainment level on Saturday not of our performance. Having travelled such a great distance and at considerable expense, I'm entitled to express that opinion.
I agree with you and everyone else making the case that until key players return it's unfair to be too critical of results. However, while the likes of Raynes and Greenslade enable others to push on up the pitch I don't see a regular goal scorer amongst them. Wilson had better stay fit!

Perhaps you should have been clearer in you original posting. Just a thought.

Re: Tonbridge game
As Comrade says I don't see a lot of goals in the team. If Davis is any good he is so far off the pace it is ridiculous. He needs to get up to speed to have any impact.
But we aren't creating many chances despite having more attacking talent. Hopefully getting Greenslade and Raynes back will give those players more freedom to play.
Interesting that Morgan was dropped. Is it going to be a repeat of last season when he starts three games and then doesn't appear again?

no wasnt to u powell. people annoy me on facebook but try to stay off that so post on here. its better on here. yes u can moan about entertainment having paid to go. u must have had a feeling it was going to be a boring game before though. i did. yes were not going to score as many goals as last few seasons. a prolific marksmen has left us. decent strikers aren't grown on trees at any level. cooke left us late into pre season. let get behind the city and enjoy the game.

There was the possibility you were blaming the team.

Re: Tonbridge game
With many first choices missing it is not surprising City are lacking that cutting edge. Both Dan and Joe add a lot to attacking options.
Wait and see where we are after a dozen or so games?
New compo - Predict the position after 12 games...I will go with 10th

I'm guessing Jerry will want to offload from the wage bill to enable cover for elsewhere to come in.BenE wrote:Interesting that Morgan was dropped. Is it going to be a repeat of last season when he starts three games and then doesn't appear again?

I was blaming both teams for the lack of entertainment. Despite losing the same fixture last season it was a very enjoyable game.

Where do we need to strengthen? When players come back we have most positions covered. Apart from any cover at full back maybe. Are there any players out there who caan play on either side? Two footed players are rarer than hens teeth.Steve Whites Missus wrote:I'm guessing Jerry will want to offload from the wage bill to enable cover for elsewhere to come in.BenE wrote:Interesting that Morgan was dropped.
