Could be awkward if he is sat next to Jerry at the anger management session

Being drawn with Tivvy in the Cup would be interesting...

Re: Friendlies
Yeah sorry powell. I meant Cooke heart wouldn't be in it this season if we refused to sell him and he had too play for us. His heart has been it it the rest of his City career. We've had a surprisingly high amount of penalties awarded last few seasons. So Cookes goal tally is higher than it would have been if we didn't have Jordan Thomas and Ewan Clark etc getting hacked all the time in the box. Wilson will probably score the majority of our penalties if he's selected to take penalties for us. No point hoping Cooke would stay for his penalty taking abilities. You can't run a team on penalty taking ability alone. He might do well at Torquay but if he wanted to leave us so be it 15k a decent fee for us. I prefer Wilson anyway.

Re: Friendlies
Bit of a disappointing game yesterday. We looked top notch first half and missed at least three sitters on top of the goals. Second half they rearranged their shape and completely nullified us. We struggled to get the ball to either sol or scott. In fact I think Scott only touched the ball once second half. I hope we don't fall into this trap in the league games.
Defence looks solid though.

Re: Friendlies
Easy win. Zac Smith nearly done a Maradona 2nd half. Could have been 6-0 at half time. 2nd half eased off and rightly so to save energy for Boreham Wood. 406 decent attendance for friendly. Lots or replica shirts sold. I love the new kit.

I wrote 2 posts ago I don't watch freindlies but couldn't resist a few pints on the sunny Twerton terraces.

Re: Friendlies
Why arrange a friendly if you only want to play for 45 minutes?

Re: Friendlies
Thank goodness preseason is over and we can now get down to proper matches. I’ve heard lots of positive talk about the new signings and I’m looking forward to seeing them on Saturday.

Re: Friendlies
you really thinking we should be busting a gut for 90 minutes for a freindly with boreham wood away on the horizon? the subs done well any way 2nd half with fisher scoring. its more about keeping fit and having a few pints on the terraces with freinds on a sunny day with half an eye on the match.BenE wrote:Why arrange a friendly if you only want to play for 45 minutes?

Re: Friendlies
Assuming that Russe will not be starting the August matches, is there anyone in the squad who can fill his role? We missed him badly following his injury last season.

Re: Friendlies
I reckon Smith could fill that role or Tilson.

Surely Tilson brought in for the very reason Russe is out for a while.
