Well I suppose just about anyone would be an improvement on what Torquay fielded last season. Presumably they didn't watch Hayfield much after Christmas and I don't recall him standing out in the final game at Twerton. Still good luck to them both - they may need it.

With £10s of Millions to invest they will be expecting to win the NLS championship.

Re: Ex Romans' Thread
The Club comment on the facebook page infers that Torquay are already starting to indicate they do not have to follow the normal protocols that other clubs follow.
I suppose being the biggest name to have ever played at this level gives them special privileges not available to lesser lights!

I hope they win promotion and that's the last we see of former League full time clubs at this level but I doubt it.

We must be due to play them at home earlier this time round. Their new ambition should mean a fair few fans will follow them to Twerton hopefully.

The men in green might take issue there, having played in the Championship.

Re: Ex Romans' Thread
Neil. As you are aware. Yeovile started their rise to the Championship by skulking into the Isthmian league to get an
easy promotion .
They are still the BBC favourite plucky non league fa cup giant killing team.
And I hope they never get higher than where they are now.
Bitter.......me.of course......they will eventually collapse into obscurity .. hopefully.

Re: Ex Romans' Thread
My comment on the biggest name was based on what Torquay fans were quoting whenever we played them!!
Having said that they were very close to using that claim with regard to the Western League.

I don't think the loss of Dyer or Hayfield has seriously weakened us. It is in the middle of midfield where we need bolstering and this gives us a chance to do it.

Not one but two ex-City men lining up in the MK Dons midfield at Salford yesterday evening: Liam Kelly and Connor Lemonheigh-Evans.
