Good business to get this game but needs publicity to get numbers through the gate.

Personally, I would hope that everyone would boycott a match against a club that has sold its soul, identity, heritage and history just for money and a season in the Premier League. However, I appreciate that many don't feel as strongly as I do. I may still send the club an email expressing my displeasure though. Needless to say, I am looking forward to the Swansea match more.

If we all boycott the game Bath City would be the ones that suffer not CardiffMarc Monitor wrote:Personally, I would hope that everyone would boycott a match against a club that has sold its soul, identity, heritage and history just for money and a season in the Premier League. I remember QPR and other clubs' supporters threatening to boycott friendlies with MK Franchise and getting them cancelled. However, I can see that many are never going to equate that franchising with this one so, as I say, they won't feel as strongly as I do and fair enough.
I won't be there but hope you guys enjoy it, Bath city win and benefit financially. I also hope that the Cardiff City supporters that come behave themselves. I have obviously had way too much experience of those in various forms.

Big pay day for City! It's not our fault with how Cardiff have been run, if we get 1000ish there then that will plug a small gap in the £1000s we'll lose over the course of the season!
Well done for the club in getting this friendly! UTC

What Mark says really, we need this game massively with the loss of a home Bank Holiday match after Salisbury's expulsion.

According to the Chron (below) we play Larkhall tonight not Thurs. It also seems to infer Cardiff game is a cup game of some sort.
City kick-off their summer fixture schedule with a short trip to take on Southern League newcomers Larkhall Athletic at Plain Ham tonight (7.30pm) and then face a plum tie against Manchester United legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Cardiff side.

I think I am being taken a touch too seriously. It is ilk me saying that every single League team's supporters would boycott them but they won't so I am not seriously expecting you lot to. Indeed, I was trying to decide what the best form of action for myself would be but decided that, whatever I did, attending would be miserable so went for boycotting. If it were a League or, more likely, a Cup fixture, I would be a bit more torn but that isn't a problem here.

Is it written like this because the newspaper itself goes on sale on Thursdays ?

Turnstiles will be open from 12.30, and people are asked to arrive early to ensure easy access. Cardiff City supporters will be segregated in the Bristol End of the ground with seating available in the family stand.
what sort of attendance are they expecting?

Some Good Players
Just glancing at the Cardiff squad.....some good Premiership quality players. Steven Caulker, Gary Medel (fresh from Brazil), Kenwynne Jones, Frazer Campbell and Wilf Zaha. Presume Bellamy has retired?
Suspect we won't have a lot of the ball!

Medel will still be on 'holiday', I think Zaha was only on loan from Man Utd last season? Bellers has hung up his boots They will have one of those Brazilian twins from Man Utd, can't remember which, and Macheda too though

And Cardiff's fans have been given the Popular Side of the ground as well tomorrow. Are they coming in their thousands or something?

I don't think they have many/if any home friendlies so its a chance for them to see their side.....they were getting 25000 plus last season?
Plus we are only an hour away from Cardiff.
