Re: Stuart James remembers Twerton!
I agree, ITV just seem to get worse and worse. I turned on for the 1st 5 minutes of their 'coverage' last night - no comment or team news on the opening game, just Chiles swooning over his fellow pundits. Sky must grimace every time they view this tripe - imagine what Stelling would have done instead.
And I'm changing my 'not looking forward to' answer to overhyped players conning the ref. last night's penalty award came after a season where just about every high profile match included a similar decision. The refs need assistance with so much happening these days. For some reason FIFA don't include the goal line assistants, yet spend millions on technology which will probably be used no more than a couple of times in the tournament. It's time for video technology and off field ref to be deployed. It seems to work in rugby and the problem of interruptions would be outweighed by the cheats not getting away with it. Really hope Brasil don't go all the way!

Re: Stuart James remembers Twerton!
There's BBC to look forward to yet. If they've employed Lawro as a co-commentator again I'll be watching the games in mute.
Chiles is ok for something like the One Show but fronting football footage he's a nightmare. Then you have Matt Smith who had suddenly inherited tips from the Steve McClaren School of Accents when he was talking to Carlos Alberto.
Entertaining opening game but the penalty decision was shameful. What annoys me almost as much is people like Scolari coming out and saying it was a definite penalty, it's what I hate about managers. Had that gone Croatia's way he would have been more agitated than a Basil rant about pace.

Brasil are the Real Madrid of international football, followed closely by Portugal. Real and the likes of Ronaldo, Marcelo and Pepe are made for each other.
