City start with Harper, Riley-Lowe, and Harvey and include a mysterious 'Trialist' on the team sheet, very cat and mouse. 9 on the bench who will feature in the 2nd half. Exeter fielding a strong line up to start with Cundy on the bench with 14 others.

Didn’t make it to TP tonight as it’s the cricket season, but as this was Exeter's 4th friendly vs our first I guess the result isn’t a huge surprise, and isn’t anything to be concerned about. Look forward to reading the thoughts of those there.

I thought 3-0 flattered Exeter at HT as we had given a good account of ourselves, but they were clinical when it mattered.
I thought the second half side would be the stronger of the two but we had very few opportunities after the break.
I spoke to Watto after the game and he said it was really hard work and that was reflected in the way players faded fairly quickly.
Tom Smith looked bright, as did Stearn, I liked the look of Simpson and Matt Bower was probably the pick of the night. The new laddie did well against a very pacey winger. He won't come up against such a jet heeled player again this season I wouldn't have thought.

Was Matt Bower the man mountain at left-back (No.15 I think) ? Good to have a big lad in defence - I don't think he lost out on a single header, and was decent with the ball for a big fella.

That Number 11 for Exeter (the Snoop Dogg look-a-like) had ridiculous pace. Funny to see him do a bit of show boating with the ball a few times too.

Didn't realise you were over for the match, Steve.

Bower was indeed a man-mountain but he was playing centre-half, wasn't he? Like for like replacement for Cundy as far as I could tell and very promising, as you say. Aside from that, can't take too much from last night - like all early friendlies. I can't think that we had a shot on target which was disappointing. Brunt didn't look much different from last season and yet to see anyone who is going to partner him successfully but, again, early days and, hopefully, more players to come and fitness will improve. Thought that Wiles-Richard did well in goal and kept a clean sheet in his half. Obviously, Clarke let in 3 and one was probably his fault but, again, not going to worry about that in the first friendly.
