Now now Mark - I do not think that you would divulge the source of such an unconfirmed statement. We will have to just sit back now and wait for 'that line' to be drawn.
I only posted it because of the interest shown in this thread of the possibility of such an occurrence. I was approached by somebody and asked whether I had heard that Bath City will be in the Northern division next season, and he seemed surprised when I told him that I had not heard anything about it.

You should tell your source that such decisions are made at the League's AGM which is around two weeks away!

I suppose it trumps the rumour I heard Friday night where we were planned to resign from conference south to register in the Championnat National 2 with our home games played in Cherbourg.
I guess it’s gonna be a long close season!

What?
What a lot of utter nonsense this thread is turning into. This forum used to be quite intelligent and entertaining.

Perhaps Steve's source is Anthony Straker as the level of travel seems to be the reason for his departure.

I see the F A has now released the allocations for next season, and Oxford and Gloucester have been moved into the north. Unless Truro get reprieved, which could presumably happen if Gateshead drop out of National League and Aldershot don't come down, we are the most westerly team in a more and more south east based league.

It is also arguably a tougher league as we get all four of the relegated clubs while losing weaker sides to the North.
Jerry is going to have to work very hard with his recruitment given we have lost some very important players as well.

Gateshead now suspended, so I don't know if they will be in the Conference next season. If not, welcome back our friends - Truro! https://www.thenonleaguefootballpaper.com/latest-news/27058/gateshead-suspended-from-national-league-and-refused-licence-for-2019-20/?fbclid=IwAR0kht7su5R3lJw06xEL5wWswyL7t6vawIizNACMmIWsTXXBgJi89ExsH3g

More importantly JG now clear favourite at 4/6 for the Yeovil job with Sky bet. Club a bit silent on re signings and signings at moment. Almost as if we're waiting for something.

I must admit the same thing has crossed my mind as well. If he does go I wonder if he will be vilified in the same way as his predecessor?

I've been speaking to a Yeovil fan (yes, quite easy!) and he said that Yeovil are in a complete mess, with no owner, with lots of players released. He actually predicted that Yeovil would go down again next season, if they manage to keep playing.

Isn't it a bit early yet to be signing players with season barely finished? I guess most will be 'on the beach' for a while.

Yes, the silly season appears to have kicked in! I can reveal that Jerry met with the board on Monday, talking enthusiastically about his recruitment targets and plans for next season.

The manager meeting the board to discuss plans is hardly news, is it? It goes on, at least, once a week, I would've thought.

To clarify, the board as a whole group meet once a month - Jerry is invited to the meeting roughly on a quarterly basis. But he is in regular contact in between and meets/talks with Paul Williams (football chair) several times each week.

Well clarified, comrade, but that is essentially the point I was making.

I see today that Frankie Artus and James Ollie have signed on for next season and that we have signed Ashley Harper who is a right back who has been with both Bristol clubs and WsM. Also, big Kev has left along with Sean Rigg.

Re: The annual who are we going to play next year thread - 2019/2020 season
In fact there has been a right good clearout with Keiron Hodges also going as well as John Mills. I am sorry about Keiron but he needs to be playing rather than being understudy to Clarkey. Don't know what to make of the John Mills saga. He just did not fit in.
Kevin was good whenever he played but it seemed too difficult to keep him on the field.
Good news about Frankie though. Ideally we need someone else like him as he tends to have to do it all on his own with the consequent frequency of injuries.
James Ollis looks a good prospect. I hope he can get a few games under his belt as we haven't had one of our own come through the ranks since Keats.
But there are going to be a lot of new faces on show in the first friendly.

Re: The annual who are we going to play next year thread - 2019/2020 season
I saw Ollis play for Mangotsfield at the back end of the season. Did well on a dreadful pitch. Their other winger caught my eye, a lad on loan from Newport.
I don't think Keats came entirely through the academy? Was in the development squad for sure. Harvey Wiles-Richards, who only turned 17 the other day, will presumably be staying on. Didn't see enough of Hodges to judge him, just a couple of friendlies and a near spectator in an 8-1 win.

Re: The annual who are we going to play next year thread - 2019/2020 season
So, Aldershot Town win the AGM Cup, they stay in Conference National, replacing Gateshead, who drop to Conference North (rather than out of the Conference altogether). Meanwhile, Oxford City stay in Conference South after all, and Truro City remain relegated.
Pity that City won't be playing Aldershot Town after all, but at least City won't have to travel down to Cornwall on a Tuesday night.

Re: The annual who are we going to play next year thread - 2019/2020 season
It's an 'in the middle' outcome.
Would have preferred Aldershot, but keeping Oxford rather than Gloucester (until they move back anyway) and Truro is fine with me. I also don't envisage Oxford being as much as a threat as Aldershot would have been.
Only slightly irritating as during my time off I wrote the Aldershot club history for the programme and amended the stats with them included, which meant a solid 15 minutes more work to adjust.

Re: The annual who are we going to play next year thread - 2019/2020 season
It probably means we will have Chippenham at Xmas/New year. We might have been paired with Truro if they had been reinstated. Although we have our M25 trips we still have Weymouth, Oxford and Hungerford as reasonably local for other bank holiday/Tuesday options.
Havant , Slough and perhaps Hampton are reasonable other journies for travelling supporters
