I wonder if they have signed a stopper as well...

Re: Ex Romans' Thread
Went to see Taunton's pre-season friendly at Bitton last night, and to be fair, I recognised more of their players than I did ours!
Starters
Ross Stearn
Although he looks more like Hoggy these days, he's still got the most of speed and touch that he had at ours, and was always yapping at the midfielders for the ball. Their fans love him already too. Only played the first half, though, and looked knackered.
Dan Ball
The Taunton fans seemed really excited by this signing, and he had a solid game in central defence, barely giving Bitton a hint at a shot, and shoring a bundled goal too.
Nick McCootie
Drifted in and out of the game - but when he was good he was on fire.
Lloyd James
Seemed more at home in this side than he ever did at ours. Most of The Peacocks' moves started though him.
Bench
Dave Sims-Burgess
Much the same as his time at City, he promised much, but the run of the ball never quite went with him.
Freddie Hinds
Remember him? He was a trialist last night, and ran himself ragged trying to impress. Had a decent half.
On the whole, Taunton played some nice creative football, but didn't make the most of their constant possession. If they keep the bulk of this side into the season we could have a nice couple of games with them.

Thanks Roy. I'd imagine they'll be very fired up for their meetings with us.

We should face Dan Bowry this season as he has joined Worthing having played for King’s Lynn last season.

Noel Chilvers scored again for Colchester (8 last season) and Jobi McAnuff reckons this could be his season.

Chocolate ankles ( Freddie Grant ) plays for Farnboro and as I'm watching the football league highlights as I write this, Donovan Wilson has just scored for Sutton.

Grant has gone on loan to Hartley Wintney.

"Guthrie has also played for Accrington Stanley, Forest Green, Colchester United and Stevenage."
Doesn't Bath City get a mention ?
