Freddie Grant has signed for Farnborough - apparently Slough wanted to keep him but couldn't compete with what they offered him.

Ar the moment that's Stern, James and Ball on their books. Watch this space for more signings.

Well that was rather prophesy of me( apologies if my grammar isn't quite correct on that one).
With Burgess Sims now joining Taunton the peacocks are now officially the new Chippenham Town.

Didn't do the business for City and either not guaranteed a start next season or wanted a change. Certainly need a partner for Cooke if not 2.

Missed some absolute sitters when he first arrived and then seemed to lose the confidence to get in meaningful positions. Taunton are taking a bit of a punt on him as they are with their other strikers. Hope Fletcher stays with us.

Re: Ex Romans' Thread
I am surprised about Sims-Burgess not re-signing for us, as Jerry had said in a video interview recently that the lad had potential. Sure he was 'raw' to start with, but he was returning from injury (or knackered), and he did take his goal well at the season's end. Makes me wonder, at times like this, whether the right decisions are always made as to what is offered to players, especially those who the Club particularly want to retain.
In relation to that, we must all cross everything now in the hope that Alex re-signs, because, if this is typical of how we lose even a few of our better players, what chance have we got of progressing even to the next level, let alone the EFL!

With players that would rather sign for a club that didn't train once last season, boozed straight after games, and are only planning to 'train' once a week at most this season... no chance.
Taunton might have a decent start to the season on the wave of enthusiasm after promotion, but I can't see them doing too much damage at this level. When it hits home that they're not playing the likes of Wimbourne and Walton Casuals most weeks they'll probably have to change their approach drastically to compete at Step 2. The gap in standard since the Southern League was expanded is massive.

Dave - Regardless of why Sims-Burgess may have wanted to move to such a Club, my comment was really more focussed on why we cannot persuade the likes of Alex to stay with us - or am I jumping the gun, as we have not heard anything official about him yet?
If there was one player who we did not want to lose for the coming season it would surely be Alex. Whilst I could not see him moving to another Club at our level, unless he was offered a lot more than we could afford to offer him, I would suggest that he is not yet ready to jump up to the next level yet, considering where he was playing the season before last. Perhaps he is playing his cards close to his chest and may want to partake of a trial for a richer Club than ours at our level - we should not have to stoop to conjecture - but the long wait is so frustrating, as he will be missed so much if he leaves, especially if it was for the sake of earning a few quid more.
I have checked that the word 'loyalty' is still in the dictionary!

It is in the dictionary but rarely applies in football. None of the players are secure.

Crikey my mate says he was brilliant for City last season. Must not like working with Pearson.

Nah - I expect he has just been told not to bottle it.
