Shaquille Hunter spotted playing for The Sportsman in the Bristol Sunday League. Still only 26, but he runs a successful soft drinks company, by all accounts, so he might be too busy for proper football.

Re: Ex Romans' Thread
Manny Monthe, who currently plays for Walsall, has been suspended for the next seven matches and fined £1200 having been found guilty of a breach of F A rules by allegedly making reference to the sexual orientation of a Forest Green player when he played against them for Tranmere in May.
Manny maintains his innocence, and has tweeted:
"I am deeply saddened by the outcome of the F A hearing.
Whilst I respect the process that the F A undertakes in such matters, I categorically deny making any such comment.
The threshold for a proven case for the F A is 'balance of probability' and by its very nature is much lower than a court of law which must be satisfied 'beyond reasonable doubt'.
I will serve my 7 game ban and pay the fine issued as I look to put this matter behind me".

I suspect this is Manny’s solicitor rather than the big man himself!

Re: Ex Romans' Thread
I went to see Brislington v Ashton & Backwell on Christmas Monday.
Ash Kington has been at Bris for a couple of months now, but a grey-haired Chas Hemmings has just joined him there, and was easily the best player on the pitch. He's even slower now, but still has an incredible touch.
But not only that, a 39-year-old Lewis Hogg was playing for A&B - and hasn't lost any of his vigour in the tackle!

This one's a bit of a stretch, but Kathryn Burn from the current series of The Apprentice is Dave Pratt's cousin!
Dave, meanwhile, is currently banging them in for Isthmian League table toppers Farnborough.

I like Roy's tenuous link- it reminded me of a player we had back in the 1960's who turned out to have had a connection(allegedly) to the real (sort of) Basil Brush.

I see that Stearn is tearing them apart again! I like to think that there is a parallel universe where he came back to us after he left Chippenham. Hopefully Taunton will get promoted so that we will have another local game next season.

Yes, here’s hoping we can have a shift away from the SE bias next season. Weymouth are looking a good bet for relegation so along with Taunton would double the number of West Country clubs. And it’s very likely we will lose an Essex club in one direction and possibly two Kent ones in the opposite. Although Dover and possibly Folkestone will be replacing them.
Sorry Roy, I’m treading on your toes here!

Not at all! Info is free to everyone!
But talking of which, it's coming up to that time again, isn't it!

Feels like Taunton probably have some untapped potential given the population (65k), new housing developments and lack of other clubs in that area.

Although he was claiming a hat trick because the first goal came when his shot from 25 yards hit the underside of the bar and went in off the keeper's back so has gone down as an own goal.

Re: Ex Romans' Thread
The NLP gave it as an own goal in the results bit. The bit typed from me.
I was relieved watching it back that it was clear and I hadn’t deprived Stearn of another away hat-trick. I always got on with him fine.

Robbie Cundy starts for Bristol City today - pretty sure that recently Jerry said that this triggers a payment to us as part of his transfer agreement.
