Perhaps if Junior has finished his thesis on children's authors he could list all our loaners of the past decade and what happened to them. In fact, there's a good prog article in there!

Funnily enough I didn't rate Nichols though I remember Adie used to rave about him.
Good idea - could be a series of articles next season (if the new editor likes) as wouldn't do it justice covering so many in two pages.

1 app wonder Paul Bastock leaving Dunstable Town, now 4th in SL Prem, to join Stamford nearer his home. Gary Horgan in the beaten Hungerford team. Co tenants AFC Dunstable bowed out of Vase in last 32 at home to Salisbury.

Re: Ex Romans' Thread
Went along to Melksham Town v Cadbury Heath tonight.
Melksham came back from a goal down to lead 3-1 on 75 mins. Cadbury Heath pulled one back instantly and then levelled it up with a thunderous free-kick just as we entered stoppage time.
Two of Melksham's goals were scored by Ricky Hulbert, who I'm guessing has just joined. They're managed by ex Chippenham boss Darren Perrin. Mike Perrott is also on their books. Cadbury Heath are managed by Andy Black who I think played a handful of games for us.

Andy Black
Yes, the diminutive Black formed a colourful midfield partnership with Keith Brown in 1988-89. He wasn't very good.

.....who else....Mike Green, Steve White (plus a few more), Eric Redrobe, Super Gra'ham Withey (yes I know there was a David Gray), Jas Bright, Hughes, Bill Mustard, Toby Redwood, Stone, a few more Blacks and Browns, Whitehouse, Boy Blue, Terry Rose......Manchester Romans wrote:Yes, the diminutive Black formed a colourful midfield partnership with Keith Brown in  1988-89. Re: Ex Romans' Thread
Could do with Withey now, a goalscorer. Had the knack of being in the right place at the right time. The late great John Walsh (he truly was a great supporter) did not like him. Can still hear John stood behind the goal shouting Withey your cr--. After the game you could say to John 'Withey got 2 goals today' and John would answer back 'aye, but what else did he do'.

I don't think this was picked up on, but Glyn Garner has left Cirencester to join Merthyr Town.

Great goal too. Â Started the move, followed up and then finished well. Â You can see it on the BBC Football website. Link belowsned wrote:Kaid Mohammed just scored against Bolton for Eastleigh!

Meanwhile, Sido Jombati was an unused sub for Wycombe at Aston Villa, whereas Aaron Amadi-Holloway made an appearance from the bench in the same game.

I don't think he featured at all the other week when I attended the game against Plymouth. Has he been a regular?

Re: Ex Romans' Thread
He was injured early December and is just on his way back.
Early season he didn't play many matches - Butcher didn't seem to rate him and when he did play him it was usually out of position, but played more regularly during the time when Sheridan was manager.

Re: Ex Romans' Thread
Came across this comment from the Wealdstone forum today posted by a fan who went to Hemel yesterday following the postponement of their match...
saw the 5-5 draw at Hemel...Weston's nippy number 7 Joe McClennan was man of the match, carving out chance after chance with runs down the wing & crosses into the box..but Hemel should have won at a canter, being 3-0 up...it then went to 3-2, before 4-2 at half time. Weston had a player sent off in the 2nd half but were able to pull the scores level to 4-4, then 5-5. Very entertaining for the neutral fan.
When we play Hemel we will need to perhaps play a more defensive game than usual at home, and against Weston, simply stop their number 7 playing by any means....

Slightly lower down the scale, Mark Harrington now plays for FC Beazer in Bath & District Sunday League Division Five.
Paul Keen, who made a handful of appearances for us in 2001/02, plays in the same division for KW Athletic. He was booked against my Sunday team a couple of months back.
