Re: Horsham Away in the FA Trophy
I thought at first we had been given a bye as there is no mention of our game in the draw just announced on the FA site.

Looks like we will be making a trip to Lancing, to the Sussex County FA, not very near to Horsham.

You may want to hold on travel plans. After originally announcing the match will take place at Lancing on Saturday 24/11, the Horsham website now says...
The 3rd qualifying round tie will take place at Lancing’s Culver Road over the weekend of 24/25 November.
Lancing FC are at home on the Saturday...

Sun 30 Nov 3Q Gloucester City A D0-0 425
That could be a good omen ... though I am not sure I could take another semi-final defeat.

At least I’m not programme editor now. Recalling the panic putting the replay edition together makes me shudder.
It’s 3G, the fourth consecutive FA Trophy away tie we will play on the stuff.

Re: Horsham Away in the FA Trophy
This is good news. I get to see one of my favourite-but-rival clubs twice in eight days. (If I can think up an excuse for slipping out on the Sunday which Mrs A will buy.)
Horsham are a nice lot. They have been homeless for a decade or so after they sold their town-centre ground to developers, for about £4m if I recall, and the money was supposed to buy them a new one, but the saga goes on and on. In fairness as a Gloucestrian I'm in no position to snipe.... Their Bostik South East division is a couple of notches below Nat South.
Lancing FC, where Horsham currently play, has a high-quality 3G and excellent facilities. It is also the County FA headquarters. Parking's a bit tight.
Meanwhile my other team will be trundling down the M4 on Saturday and I look forward to seeing you. We are significantly better than last season, which isn't saying much, but we're a bit physically lightweight so please don't tackle us hard. We are still nursing the bruises from last night at Concord....
