Wealdstone must have thought it was Christmas Day!

Just looked at the table on the BBC Sport app and it shows that we have gone up to third. Couldn’t see how that could be as we were 3 points behind Woking, then realised that they have given us a win and 3 points today rather than just the one - clearly they weren’t paying attention at the end!

Although today’s result was disappointing after being 2-0 up with 15 minutes to go, I think we need to look at the bigger picture. Before the game at St Albans, I think most of would have accepted 8 points from that and the next 4, although we probably wouldn’t have expected to have got 7 of those points at St Albans, Woking and Wealdstone. Sounded today from the commentary that Sean Rigg made a lot of difference, ironically perhaps moreso after he went off, and hopefully he will stay fit for the rest of the season.

Onwards and upwards.

Great start for City, 2 up inside 15 mins, never let Wealdstone in the game 1st half, kept pressure on them, Clarke had little to do. Repelled their expected pressure at start of 2nd half, gradually gained control, created a great chance for Raynes, they were running out of ideas when the og from a free kick changed the match on 75 mins.. Their crowd woke up, momentum changed, more balls into the box, difficult to see from other end the detail of the penalty, then we come right back and Stearn slides in his hat trick, then pin ball in our box ends in the back of our net. 3 goals in the last 5 mins. Great game for the neutral.. and for ducks as the game was played in a mix of torrential rain and drizzle. Felt like a defeat at the end though most would have taken a point before the start, need to see these types of games out.
