Unless we were at the same spot, I took that pic of Jim in the window. I also have a video of our game the following season when Evo saved s penalty and someone side-foots the rebound wide from about six yards with the goal gaping.

Wonder if BBC will fancy it for their red button live game. 12.30 ko anyone?

I went to the match last night and was not surprised to see Jerry Gill there. Banbury were definitely the better side and had some good passing, quick forwards and confident defenders. Weymouth didn't do much to show how good the Banbury keeper was.

I recall travelling to Banbury on the coach, late 60s (?) to see City play them in the FA Cup.  Lost, 2-0, I think.

We've never played Banbury in the FA Cup, but did beat them in the Southern League Cup in 1969.

Our only defeat there was March 1968 in the league, lost 2-1. Ian Henderson scored, attendance was 1084.

I'm retrieving this from a spreadsheet by the way, in case you're all questioning my sanity further.

I was at the 1968 match - one of the nastiest atmospheres I can remember at a City match. The Good Book mentions the very physical nature of the game and this spilled over on to the terrace. Some of the home fans were looking for trouble and I can remember my teenage friends and I were quite frightened.

Fortunately subsequent visits were far more pleasant and here's hoping that is the case on Saturday!

Winchester City at home. (but only if they beat Slimbridge on Saturday), otherwise it will be Slimbridge.

Yeah, a couple of 'agricultural' blokes came after me in the car park after so I got one in first and legged it onto the coach.

I remember going to Banbury in 1979 for a Southern League Cup game that we won 3-0.

My FA Cup record at Banbury is worrying to say the least

1967-68 3Q Banbury United 3 v WEMBLEY 2

1969-70 1Q Banbury United 2 v WEMBLEY 1

But back then Banbury were 'professional' in the Southern League and Wembley were amateur in the Athenian League, so quite a gap. At the time, those games were the biggest FA Cup games Wembley had been involved in. Some years later I saw them play at home to Nuneaton in the cup when George Rooney was in charge of Nuneaton
