Re: Wealdstone
Judging from the radio commentary we practically contrived to lose that. A goal up and cruising, we replaced Watkins for Morton and instantly much of the attacking intent seemed to disolve. It also seemed a bit strange not subbing Semenya as he appeared intent on getting sent off - which he eventually did. From the audio alone you could sense the Stones goals coming, so I’d be interested to hear if all that was apparent to those who were there.
Unless there were more nuances to the game than we could glean from sound alone, it appeared to be quite a naive performance from the management. Doubly frustrating as at one point we sat in eighth, only one point from te play-off zone.

I didn’t see the second yellow properly but having watched it back it’s ridiculusly harsh. It’s barely a foul.
And apologies if I didn’t make it clear but it looked like the substitution of Watkins was enforced.
Edit - it was, he was unwell.

Re: Wealdstone
Very frustrating. We just have not had the strength of mind to get enough positive results this season. We just have not got going.
We obviously have the talent.
Roll on the somerset cup.

Re: Wealdstone
Too many times this season we have been 1-0 up and on top away from home and not put the game to bed, ending up either losing or drawing, something we need to put right for next season.
Agree with Roy both about the seeming inevitability of the Wealdstone goals and not subbing Semenyo before the equally inevitable sending off.
Thanks as always to Mark and Bob for the excellent job they did again of almost making me feel as if I was there!

Ah, I was hoping that was the case. Still seemed like a bit of a conservative swap though.

Re: Wealdstone
Even first half on chances though we were more threatening. 2nd half we had Watkins effort against the post bouncing back into keepers hands and 2 blistering shots straight at him. As said above we don't seem to be able to put teams away. And we paid the price.
Ref was on Antoine case for persistent fouling, more clumsy
McCootie like than intentional. So crying out to be subbed.
But no. Cameo of the season I guess. Some neat incisive stuff but missing the clinical finish.

Probably the most frustrating match of a most frustrating season.
Your mate didn't sound happy afterwards...

Not sure if it was the substitution of Andy Watkins or the arrival on the pitch of the Red Kite that changed the game.

What's the story behind that reaction?

The interviewer has asked some perfectly reasonable questions and doesn't deserve to be spoken to like that. Not sure when it took place, I spoke to Jerry not far from there but he wasn't around. Maybe it was very soon after full-time and emotions were running high, but still not necessary. Dread to think how he'll react if they lose to Hungerford but, as Wilkinson would say, I'm 'not interested'.

He must have been in Lecco last summer. Can you remember that Hilarious phrase Stillman.stillmanjunior wrote:comrade powell wrote:Luton Roman wrote:
