Who will we get in the Cup/Trophy 17/18 compo

it's a lovely little village in Snowdonia where legend has it that a Prince once killed his faithful hound, who, as it appeared to the Prince had savaged his child. A reminder that sometimes all is not as it first appears.
Just thought I would make it a little more interesting rather than just type in some town or city.

So the legend goes, after killing said hound, the prince then discovered the dog had prevented a wolf from carrying off his child ... and forever more, Beddgelert FC had to merge with CPD Porthmadog.

Hendon or Slough away then, could be worse.

Both teams play on 3G, as do Margate.

It’s taking over the world.

Either of those will be tough, Slough are 5th in the Southern League and are still in the FA Cup after winning 6-0 at Gainsborough of Conf N in the last round.

Hendon are 6th in the Isthmian Premier.

Of course, let's get through tomorrow night first!

We have old scores to settle with Hendon, losing to them in the cup in consecutive seasons in the late 90s (2-0 and 4-0)

We were regular league opponents of Slough in the 90s and faced them twice in the trophy, both away - lost 4-2 in 82 and won 4-2 in 91.

But of far more importance is the impact on the table - if it's Slough then Hacksaw will open up a 4 point lead. Table updated after tomorrow's replay...

Years ago we played Slough at home. It was quite feisty and in one storming run by Adie Mings the opposition were literally bouncing off him. In the post match interview the Q + A went as above and became a cult classic amongst fans.

It also contains Adie using the word 'really' around 30 times in a few minutes. Really.

I still have it on video but would have no idea how to upload to YouTube. The highlights from that game are epic, two stunning goals from us (Slough's was good as well), Adie Mings rounding the keeper only to clearly have his leg held back (no decision made) and the run which Powell mentions.

Tyrone had a running battle with Zlatan Ibrahimovic a few months back. When he was interviewed after I hoped for a similar set of responses. Didn't happen, sadly.

Apparently Hendon beat Slough 3-0 on penalties after a 1-1 draw.

Crikey. If we make it through we'd better win that tie outright, then.

I think that applies to any cup game v any opposition.

You're not allowed to explain the victory in that way. You have to say, as on the FA website "AET, Hendon FC won 3-0 on kicks from the penalty mark". Why do they still use this archaic language?!
Incidentally, I won't be surprised if Margate and City get fined or thrown out for kicking off at 7.45 last night, when the FA website said that the kick-off was at 3pm.
