Play-Offs 2017/2018
Here is a topic to keep us "amused" - http://nonleague.pitchero.com/news/the-national-league/revealed-big-changes-national-league-format - personally I prefer to keep the end of season as is.

Yes agreed. But higher placed team should have more advantage. Still can't see a problem with 4th v 5th, winner plays 3rd and winner plays 2nd in a final.

I quite like the 6 team playoffs proposal, will certainly lessen the number of dead rubber games at the tail end of the season, which for clubs at this level relying largely on matchday income will be a plus point. Highest placed side should definitely have home advantage for the final though, I hope clubs don't vote through a neutral ground final.

Seems to me that what they are saying is that the league system is a bit sh1t really. You need a cup compo to decide anything.
Why not have the entire league run as a cup compo to make it really exciting. What about having a ladder system like they do in squash where you can only play teams either immediately above or immediately below. No need to bother with a fixture list then and away days would be exciting as you wouldn't know where you were going until the week before.
Strudwick's fag packet could finally hang up its boots.

Re: Play-Offs 2017/2018
This might be okay for the top division where presumably most of the teams likely to be involved have grounds suitable for the next level.
As we saw last season though, there are likely to be teams in North and South whose grounds aren't, so potentially the team finishing 10th could be involved!
I think they would be better trying to negotiate 3 up and down between League 2 although that doesn't seem on the cards.
