Meh. At least if we lose it won't be a humiliating exit*. Pressure off us and no Ross Stearn to inevitably score.
*Unless it's a repeat of the 6-1.

Re: Trophy Draw
Or for those of us still in therapy from it, the 7-2.
But from a quick look we played them in 92 and 95 at the same stage and won both so it can happen.
And then of course there was the resurrection of Sting. Kids if you don't know ask your granddad.

And if we lose we'll be going to Weston on a Saturday rather than midweek (pending pitch inspection)

Re: Trophy Draw
They could become only the second team we've knocked out of the FA Trophy three times, the other being Merthyr.
If that's not an incentive for the players I don't know what is...

Not ideal
Not ideal but one we can win.
We beat Rovers, Altrincham and Dover on the previous run. We play better against footballing teams.
Optimistic.....

Re: Trophy Draw
The ideal scenario here is that they draw with Cheltenham in the FA Cup so have the replay 3 or 4 days after our game. All the better if they get a decent 3rd Round draw as well.

It's the fourth time we've been drawn out against them (92, 94, 95 and now), the first time we have been drawn against the same team four times in the competition. Tell your friends.

Re: Trophy Draw
Junior, a real statto would also have pointed out that we played them at home in the cup exactly 50 years ago last Saturday! I remember in the build up to the match that the main point of interest amongst fans was that they played in chocolate and amber. It was a real struggle and we won with a late goal by the great Jimmy Lofty only to lose 5-0 at home to Brighton in round 2...

Re: Trophy Draw
What a coincidence. I was only talking to Paul Doswell the Sutton manager yesterday. Really nice bloke.

Re: Trophy Draw
Doubt he's a very nice bloke with his team this evening - 4-0 down at home to Dover at half time...
EDIT - Dover have just added a fifth.

Re: Trophy Draw
Lost 6-0. The match thread on their forum makes an amusing read. Beforehand Ricky Modeste's bad tackle in a previous match was argued over with one hoping he was put out for the rest of the season as revenge. Then one of the Sutton players gets red carded tonight for a dreadful elbow in the face! Apparently they put out a weakened team head of their cup match on Saturday.

From the Sutton United website:
Christmas Comes Early
We are pleased to announce that we will be reducing our admission prices for our Buildbase FA Trophy 1st Round tie at home to Bath City on Saturday 10th December and would like to thank our visitors for their agreement.
The revised prices will be: Adults £10 Concessions £5 U-16s £2 £1 stand transfer Chairman Bruce Elliott was pleased to offer supporters an early Christmas present. "With five home games in quick succession, expensive away trips, the fiasco getting home from Boreham Wood and an all-pay cup game this week, we felt that with December always a costly month it would be a good time to make this gesture and we hope it will encourage supporters of both sides to come along."

Thanks to Sutton for this welcome gesture. There are seats left on the supporters coach for Saturday and the sliding scale of reduced prices will apply if Bas gets a few more bookings. Don't delay, ring him today!

Assuming the same ball numbers(?), we'd have been away to Worthing.

Went there about 10 years ago with Powell and Phil Weaver, part of two games in a day for non-league national sides. Coupey, Gethin and Adie Harris played for Wales, managed by John Relish.
