2-2 draw at home to Fulham in the FA Cup.
Surprisingly the attendance was higher at Twerton than in the replay three days later at Craven Cottage. Before my time but I'm sure a few forum regulars attended each game...

Bizarrely, I did see the replay.
I was living in London and went to watch my mate Johnny Freegard.
Bizarrely, because I wouldn't become a City fan for another 22 years.

The home game was terrific entertainment and I gather we did really well in the replay, taking the lead at one stage. I remember Radio Bristol had full commentary and I listened to the whole match in my car parked outside the house, as I couldn't get a signal inside.

A game I will never forget...got arrested by over zealous police for blowing an air horn. Had to get the video (which I still have) to see the goals.

I have a video of the game as well, filmed from the main stand. The Pop side roof is largely missing, presume it was being replaced because of damage from the '87 storm?

My friend, Alan May, and I went up to the replay by train. I remember us walking over Putney Bridge after getting off the tube, having a couple of pints in the pub on the other side (sorry, Rob - can't remember the name),
We were full of optimism and enjoyed a great game - shame about the result!

Went to the first game but missed the replay as I started my first real job at British Gas the next day so didn't think I could ask for time off on my third day there. Remember listening to the game on Radio Bristol.
And none of this waiting ten days to play the replay nonsense then. First game Sunday, replay Wednesday, job done.

Totally agree on that last point. There are many reasons why a once great tournament is now floundering, but from fans' perspective the long gap between first match and replay must be one of the main ones. Wasn't there an occasion last season when the two teams had to wait a month because of champions league?

Went to the replay. We had that early goal and tremendous City support. Fulham were flagging at the end and just held on.

Re: 27 years ago tomorrow...
Was at the first game but didn't get to the replay.
I seem to recall that at the time Jimmy Hill was doing Match of the Day and that he did make some mention of the game and was at Twerton Park on the Sunday. At 2-0 I think we all dared to dream but as someone else has said Clive Walker played really well for Fulham and City couldn't cope with him.
Like others I listened to the radio commentary of the replay. I have a feeling, and others may be able to confirm this or otherwise, that we had a really good chance to go 2-0 up before Fulham eventually went on to win.
