Owers interview after Concord performance
Gary was kind enough to give us a bit of time after the Concord match yesterday, sounded as unhappy with the performance and result as some fans seemed to be.
I personally thought Concord didn't play like a side down the bottom of the table and started with positive intent, much like Dartford a couple of weeks ago. We created more in front of goal yesterday, two or three goalmouth scramables spring to mind which on another day if we'd have forced in we could have won quite comfortably. The worrying thing is with some difficult fixtures coming up we could find ourselves sliding down the table.
Apologies for the fireworks going off in the background, tis' the season though!

Re: Owers interview after Concord performance
One difference between Gary and Adie/Lee is GO changes formations/personnel far more radically so at least there is a chance to find a winning combination.
The players are under performing from what they are individually capable of; two notable exceptions are Many and Max.
I don't see many games so it is frustrating to not be able to offer alternatives but the situation must be dire when two highly talented footballers like Dan and Naby are substituted at half time for tactical reasons.

Manny has been nowhere near the level of performance that got him MOM awards for a few weeks.
But as Cannonball says if you have no one who is capable of sticking it in the back of the net it doesn't matter how you change things round.

The thing about those goalmouth scrambles is that they came about by Concord players putting themselves in the way and blocking everything. Not only that but there were many shots form outside the box that were also successfully blocked. Indeed, with our goals, they almost put enough bodies in the way to prevent the goals. With their goals, it was too easy for them to score. For want of an attacking midfielder running into the box, they should have got a third as well.
