It sounded like we gave it a go but there is just not enough quality up top. The problem with penalties is becoming ridiculous. Maybe GO should have brought Murphy on as a sub to take it.

When taking a penalty you need to be confident that you are going to score. The problem with us has got so bad that the crowd do not expect us to score and nor do the players.
Over the past year or so the only player you could put your money on with any sort of confidence was Liam Kelly and I think he missed one.

The keeper moved about 3 yards of his line before the kick was taken - https://www.facebook.com/simon.jenkins.73700/videos/633366440177738 - so the penalty should have been re-taken or is this another rule change?

Broom is in the box too but I bet we wouldn't have said it should be re taken if he scored.

That keeper... for once yorkie would have been right with his usual 'best in the league' comment

Re: Ebbsfleet v City
He's an arrogant poser but yes, he's one of the best. Not that he had much to do for the first 80 minutes today against our powder puff attack. We could easily have been at least three down at the break, what with o'Leary's wonder save and their hitting the bar when it looked easier to score.
Having benefitted from one of the softest penalty awards imagineable I think it's a bit rich to suggest we should have had two bites of the cherry. Morgan's body language suggested he didn't fancy it so maybe we shouldn't have been surprised by his feeble effort.
Let's hope we put up more of a fight when we go to Maidenhead in a fortnight, otherwise we'll be very lucky to get away with such a narrow defeat.

He missed one at Hampton!
Morgan grabbed the ball straight after. Why he didn't stick his laces through it similar fashion to the Potters Bar shoot-out is beyond me.

Even players at the very highest level elect for trying to place the shot rather than leathering it. I wonder if managers ever instruct them to go for power.
