Ebbsfleet v. City
Team is Phillips, Simmo, Gallinagh, Batten, Ball, Benny, Bowman, Williams, Nick, Kaid, Frankie, Subs Coupe, Smith, Pratt, Hemmings.
So after plans for a smash and grab in the Chronicle, no Watkins? and Adie claiming to have a fully fit squad, what of Kington? Have I missed something??

I thought exactly the same thing when I saw the team - I am sure Lee Howells will be able to explain it all in due course! Seriously though, it doesn't say much when we can't even manage 5 subs.

This is why we love the game. Forgotten days like this existed.

Smash and grab indeed. Management due some credit then?

From second half commentary sounded as if we at least deserved a point - great result and hopefully the start of a good run.

Come on, the management were criticised after a very long bad run. One swallow does not a summer make and one game does not long run make but fair play, it's a win and let's see if we can kick on from here. We need the good news.

A massive relief. Well done to everyone who went; you deserved it.

As a bonus, only one point in total gained today by the top 6 teams.

What a great win and a much needed Christmas tonic. Â Only wish that I could have been there to witness it. Â
Typical that this happens on the day that I need to stay at home because I am hosting the Christmas Draw at my cricket club.
Roll on Boxing Day!
Come on you Stripes.

'course not, all down to the players this one.
And Watkins was ill.

Must be the best manager we've ever had.

Great gutsy display from our boys today. We were up against a very good side but defended resolutely and worked really hard as a unit.
Granted we only had one shot on target all game but Kaid's goal was a thing of beauty and made the journey thoroughly worth while.
If this doesn't inspire the team to turn the season around nothing will, let's hope they go in to the Truru game full of confidence.

After the insipid away performances of the past two months, it was great to see every player giving absolutely everything. Perhaps we were lucky to catch Ebbsfleet on a bad day and it was highly amusing to listen to their arrogant fans growing increasingly agitated as we refused to cave in. Although it wasn't at the level which was reached at Harlow, our bench had to endure abuse throughout the second half and it was great to see them celebrate at the end in front of the gobby locals!

Ignoring the obvious fact that he wasn't on the pitch, the only thing that would have been funnier was if McCootie had scored the winning goal!

Re: Ebbsfleet v. City
great result
great performance
just shows what the team can do if they put there minds to it
thought Ebbsfleet fans i came across were very plesant
wished us that traveled on the coach a happy xmas
most of there fans we saw comming out of the ground said well done
this is what footy is all about
being gracious in defeat
the trip home flew by
only felt like 1 hour not 3 and a half hours
still buzzing
bring on truro

Re: Ebbsfleet v. City
Pleased to hear that Rudi and those in the stand showed no malice towards me or other City fans there either. As Yuffie suggests, McCootie really got up their noses in the first half with his physical approach which some of their pampered full timers clearly had no stomach for. We had the usual sight of opposing players surrounding the ref after every transgression, demanding his dismissal. Well done to the management for removing him before the inevitable red card.

Well done to all, those 3 points were desperately needed. Particularly pleased that the loyal travelling band of supporters at last had something to cheer about.
Afraid it does not alter by opinion that changes are needed.

Agree with you SteveS, great to get the 3 points (and in smash n grab fashion too) but changes still need to be made.

Really pleased for the travelling supporters who have had to endure some dross. Don't know how Archie got the team playing with some spirit but well done and at last Kaid shows some class.
Great result under the circumstances.

Whether this proves to be the start of a good run or another Chelmsford 'false dawn' we won't know until at least Saturday - in the meantime I think we should enjoy a weekend when we have won and Yeovil are still in the bottom two of League 2! (Not of course to mention what happened to our friends across the city who play with that funny shaped ball).
