Welling away...
...on 3 December will go ahead as they lost to Whitehawk today, so won't be playing in the cup that day!

Re: Welling away...
Ebbsfleet lost to Merstham in an odd result.
I bumped into Mr Chairman at Paulton v Bishops Cleeve. Paulton won 2-0, both goals in the second half. Not a classic. As Paul pointed out, a rare occasion where the manager and assistant's sons were both playing - Alex Grimshaw and Jordan Ricketts.

Re: Welling away...
Radstock v Malmesbury in the Les Phillips cup for me. The home side came back from 2-0 down to win 4-2 on penalties in a monsoon.

Re: Welling away...
French 1st division Guingamp v Lille, starting at 8pm here. Very expensive: 6 euros = about £5
Update: Guingamp won 1-0 with one decent goal. They missed a sitter right at the end of the match. Lots of stuff happening that I don't like: TV screens, showing goals, attempts (but not fouls!) and various shots of the crowd, who then wave at the camera. A 'leader' of the crowd faces those sitting in the end stand, and he 'sings' through a microphone, but NEVER looks at the match. Looking forward to watching a proper match at Twerton.

Re: Welling away...
Derby 1-0 Leeds.
Woeful first half with the only event of note Leeds hitting the bar right on HT.
Slightly better second half. Well struck low shot through a crowded box by a Derby sub gave them the lead.
Last twenty minutes Leeds finally threw men forward, nearly got caught on the break a couple times, then hit the post in the last of six additional minutes.
£33 for the privilege. Decent view though.

That'll be £6 by kick off time the way the exchange rate is going. Might get to see their next home game.Sir Ged Roddy wrote:French 1st division Guingamp v Lille, starting at 8pm here. Very expensive: 6 euros = about £5

I would have been cheering for both teams to lose! So was the returning messiah given a warm welcome?

There was basically nothing made of his return at all. No announcements or anything in the programme. Was all a bit odd.

Re: Welling away...
We went to see Rockleaze Rangers v Cadbury Heath in the GFA Trophy. It finished 5-2 to the Heath, but that seriously flattered the victors, who were all over the place in the second half, and who were lucky to hang on.
Of City interest was the lad Seiko, who is apparently dual registered between our kids and the Heath. Apparently the promising 16-year-old was too tired to start, but came on for a late cameo and looked busy in among the dismay. One to watch in the Somerset Cup, I reckon!
