Plenty on social media about the win. Anyone care to share on here?

A very entertaining game again. To be fair to Gosport, the margin of victory probably flattered us but they were absolutely dreadful in and around the area and wasted several good openings. Probably McCootie's best performance for at least a year and it was capped by an excellent goal. Unfortunately there was no tannoy tonight but I can reveal that he was the sponsors' mom. Oh, and we almost didn't get a game as the lights went out during the warm up and were only restored at ko!

McCootie was the sponsor's mum?

If any electricians want to give up an hour or so at their time to look at the PA System please let me know. Driving me mad now. I'm happy to help test it out but my knowledge is limited. Turned it off and on a few times, basically.

Still, meant I managed to commentate on the second half, which was fun.

Good win - in the end!

Game changed as soon as Bowman came on and Diallo was moved back to his more successful central role. Bowman gave us pace and impetus and with his ability to glide past defenders he made space on the right and Diallo was then able to free himself up just inside him.

McCootie ran his socks off all game and was almost unplayable at times - defenders must hate marking him - and if only he could be relied upon to put his chances away we would have a very valuable player on the books. He is so much fitter this season and the benefits are really showing......quite a dramatic transformation from last season under the previous management.

By the time the 2nd goal had gone in the confidence had returned and the football started flowing again and I am now looking forward to the important  FA Cup match v Oxford City on Saturday much more than I was - how things can change in a few days!  Very Happy

City v Gosport Empty Close Game

Post by A36 Wed Sep 14, 2016 2:05 pm

A quick scan of Simon's website suggests that last night's win was actually City's narrowest league win against Gosport. Their only previous league win over Gosport was a 5-0 home win on 20th January 1990.

Alistair Durden @alidurdenBBC
@BathCity_FC @BigBathCityBid The report on the #BigBathCityBid will now be running on Friday's BBC Points West rather than tonight.

Now being moved to Friday. Bit daft when the Bid meeting is on Thursday, unless they're showing their faces again.
