Is this the 'change in management' that sees half of the previous duo 'assisting' Jim Rollo and doing all the newspaper interviews while we are still doing just as badly as before? Seems to me that there is a common denominator here, and if the new manager isn't in place before the Whitehawk game Britton should walk away and leave Jim to it on his own - it can hardly get any worse (although I have been saying that for a while)!

Britton wasn't there.

Re: Saturday Team News
Really is curtains for Jim then. If there was any likelihood that he might be 'caretaker' until the end of the season surely that has gone now.

Re: Saturday Team News
If we were some ten points better off it might have been fair to give Jim the opportunity but we can't afford that risk in this increasingly concerning situation. Hopefully a new bloke can freshen things up and the players can respond to new ideas. If Pratt's injury is serious and keeps him out, I think we need to bring in someone quickly unless further loans and Richards are seen as the answer. I suppose what money was available has been blown on bringing Mohamed in.

Bath Rugby similarly nosediving despite all their 'resources'.

Yes it does.
I am not knocking effort but the problems with everything Bath City FC stem from accepting second best and what appears to be a laissez-faire attitude.
When Andrew Kerslake thought of the concept of BCIR I was ready to help out financially or otherwise as it was a great innovation. BCIR has improved season by season and yes the content of commentary is very good, BUT, commenting on major events in the game TWO minutes after they happen is not entertaining or worthy of a "live" broadcast. If there are technical problems then just explain and, as when stillmanjunior had problems, I and hopefully any reasonable listener will understand and accept.

I think we've more important issues at the moment. The fact any team at this level has live radio commentary for free is amazing.

It sounds like you're knocking effort from here.

I don't think we could win a raffle at the moment. Damage was done in October and I'm afraid the board reacted too late.

Agreed, and haven't got the energy to reply fully. For what it's worth, we usually listen ourselves when we start and I've never known it to be behind. There was no producer today as Bob wasn't well, and I thought the coverage provided was excellent. Some efforts from others in the league are feeble.
I listened via the Mixlr app, no idea if it was behind or not.

Re: Saturday Team News
McCootie was injured for a while in the first half, maybe that caused your time lag.

Re: Saturday Team News
Anyway...about the football, no rumours circulating on the new boss on here, tight lipped could be good, who knows, I'm straw clutching. How many more match day agonies can we endure. What on earth happened at Ebbsfleet that didnt before or hasn't since??

Re: Saturday Team News
We were lucky enough at Ebbsfleet to catch them on an off day and a player no longer available to us scored a last second goal out of the blue. I wasn't there today but thought we'd struggle after our pathetic performance at Dartford, Eastbourne's convincing win last week and their being buoyed up further by the return of their goal scoring hero.

I forgot to mention that we also showed a hell of a lot more spirit that day at Ebbsfleet than in subsequent matches.

Gerry - I'm pretty convinced your straw clutching. The majority of the Board are not capable of showing any urgency. My guess is we will end up with Owers on some sort of short term deal. Hang on I said guess, perhaps I should have said fear.

Re: Saturday Team News
My understanding is any lag on the online radio coverage is going to be down to the users computer. It may be a few seconds behind at best but if you ever get a buffering message it will lose that time so could end up several minutes behind. If you listen to BBC radio coverage of football or cricket whilst watching on TV it can often end up noticeably behind. Just refresh the page every now and again.

Re: Saturday Team News
Perhaps we could put someone like Bob Weston or Bas in charge. If the players could at least replicate the effort put in by guys like that we would have a fighting chance.

Do you mean Bob Chester or the Duke of Weston?

Re: Saturday Team News
Think 2weirdtown has hit the nail on the head. The players are identikit spineless copies of one another. I didn't go yesterday (thank God) but at Dartford they rolled over, and have been for months. A massive clear out is needed, but it looks like we will be doing it from the Southern League.

Really hope someone can turn this season around, can't really contemplate watching southern league football again.
Local yes ,but at times some pretty dire football watching the likes of the mangoes ,yate, bambury, merthyr ,northwood was interesting but only for the local pub.
Now there are such delights as ,frome, paulton, chippenham, poole, kings lynn, merthyr , Chesham, still for under a tenner might consider the odd game NOT.
