City's recent FA Cup record
It is always disappointing when we are knocked out of the FA Cup and it is always worse when it is from a team placed lower in the football pyramid. I thought I would check out the performance over the past 21 seasons (I went back until the website FCHD went off-line). The findings are listed below:-
Losing to Clubs 3 leagues above (1 time)
Losing to clubs 2 leagues above (1 time)
Losing to clubs 1 league above (6 times)
Losing to clubs higher in same/parallel division (4)
Losing to clubs 1 league below (4 times)
Losing to clubs 2 leagues below (5 times)
The results are not as bad as I thought and felt, but still we are below target.
8 defeats to higher league clubs as opposed to 9 defeats to lower league clubs.
Oh well, make of it as you wish.

Re: City's recent FA Cup record
You would expect to lose to higher league teams. The main statistic is that we have lost 9 times out of 21 to lower league teams.
That seems particularly poor.
But this is why when you do get a cup run it is particularly sweet.
