Brings back memories of our last game there - absolutely hammered down, which I felt the full force of as I walked from Butlins. We won 2-0, think Stuart Douglas scored.

This looks a tough one. They're riding high in Ryman Premier, lost 2-1 away to Wealdstone in Cup 4QR, having previously beat Oxford City. I hope we're up for it...

Also remember to duck on the coach when leaving the ground - beware the lethal catapult...

Woohoo I'm treating the girlfriend to a dirty weekend in Chichester that weekend. Only a sixteen minute drive there from the hotel and an irate drive back for me....

And their kit is near identical to the lot that knocked us out last season.

What a relentlessly tedious draw.
Away again and last year we got to the brink with only 1 home draw.
Heartily sick of our lack of luck.

Re: And it's Bognor Regis
It's in the in-between category for me. It's away which is bad (although not for me as I'm relentlessly busy and didn't want to land another programme. Praying we don't draw), it's not too far to travel which is good, it's against a side which is doing quite well which is bad, but it's a place I haven't been to for a while, and from memory it was a friendly club, which is good.
Had it been a team in our league I would have been up in arms.

Re: And it's Bognor Regis
Can't say i'm too optimistic. Saw Bognor beat Oxford City 4-2 in the F.A. Cup. They were unfortunate to be 2-1 down at HT but ran Oxford ragged in 2nd half with slick attacking play and deservedly won. The centre forward Jason Prior is a fine player and in a prolific run of form at the moment although he did miss 2 pens in the Cup defeat at Wealdstone. I usually watch them once or twice a season and they have always been an attractive, footballing side although their preference for passing the ball out from the back sometimes leads to calamitous mistakes. City will certainly have to be at their best to avoid defeat.

Hmm...
Let's hope we go into the match with 2 league wins under our belt over the next few days to get the confidence back.
Did you see Saturday's match, Micawber? Just wondering how Oxford compared to when you saw them at Bognor.

Re: And it's Bognor Regis
Yes i saw the match on saturday and Oxford were certainly more impressive than they were at Bognor where they faded badly after dominating the 1st 20 mins and only led 1-0 when perhaps should have been 3 up. In fact their most dangerous player that day was someone called Bubb who i dont think was in their squad on saturday. I think we are desperately lacking a holding midfield player at the moment ( someone in the Joe Burnell mould) and fear that Bognor could well overrun us at times.

Re: And it's Bognor Regis
Last saw Bognor on that wet day Mark has already mentioned. They weren't selling any matchday programmes, which I think ruined Bas' day, despite the 2-0 win.

I'm sure their clubhouse burnt down around the time of the game? Can't remember if it was before or after. They were in a lot of trouble then but sounds like they're building their way back up.

Thanks Bognorbiker. Any real ale in the bar? Bishop Stortford claimed to serve it but just had 2 unused handpumps decorating the bar.

I think there are, but I'm a Lager philistine so I couldn't tell you what they serve. If I can find out before the game I'll post the details.

Re: And it's Bognor Regis
I write an 'opinion column' in the Bognor Regis programme. Nothing too heavy or controversial and its on anything to do with football - but not Bognor Regis Town FC. I've just written one for the game on 28th Nov at Nyewood Lane. I was in nostalgic mode! Bath City FC get a mention which you might find interesting if you are coming to the match. Some older supporters might remember the match I mention involving City.
Safe journey on 28th - lets hope its a good game.

Thanks Chris - looking forward to reading your programme piece! Hopefully there will be a good turn out from Bath next Saturday - after many, many years of failure we actually made an impact in the Trophy last season and were a whisker away from a Wembley final.

Here's extended highlights of Bognor's cup match at Wealdstone. They look a big, strong outfit...

Hopefully we've practised penalties for Saturday's game!

Martin, we only have one player who can take penalties.....and even he isn't too keen!comrade powell wrote:Here's extended highlights of Bognor's cup match at Wealdstone. They look a big, strong outfit...
